Why ? Do you think that would put people in those seats ?

Maybe BSU could work a deal where they would throw in the tarp to cover the new seats during games.

The east side has been weird since the stadium was constructed. Even through all of the upgrades, nothing has really been done, except added aluminum high school bleachers (which have had temporary construction fencing underneath for 15+ years) and a brick fence (a faux look). So bad - Cursed. Kind of like the bridge to nowhere.
And the pinkish red tarps - at Scheumann and Worthen - are equally awful. Seriously, what is BSU thinking?
BSU messed Worthen up with the silver aluminum bleachers. Those at least should have been painted red - now 30+ years ago. Lol.

Mathematically, I bet Worthen and Scheumann hit between 20-40% fans at each home contest.
Atlanta has flex zone seating, rather than tarps, to combat crowd size issues.

When I came to Muncie in the winter of 1990 to take a look at the campus, the first time I saw the football stadium from the outside I swear to God I wondered what high school played there. I know we're a MAC school with less than impressive attendance but the look of the stadium is shoddy at best. I'd find it a miracle if any recruit for the football program finds it at all impressive.

The west grandstand needs a MAJOR overhaul. Cracking cement and open seams all over the place. Embarrassing.

Well have you seen Carmel, Westfield and Noblesville's stadiums. Or how about the Merrillvile Pirates stadium. Scheumann Stadium was quite a step up from the old Ball Field across from the hospital. It had wooden bleacher seats and capacity was no where near 22,500. It did sell out for the big game against Southern Illinois and Jim Hart. BSU won

Worthern needs some work as well you can remove the bolts from the seats and floor with your hand. I watched a three year old dis assemble a whole seat during the evansville game. I was going to say something to the oblivious parent but seat deconstruction was much better than the crying that had been going on

the football stadium is a high school stadium behind a facade it works but it would be nice to do something to the east side. The northside with locker room practice facility alum center is really nice

As MAC stadiums go, we are so so. Not great, not bad. When the day comes where we average more than 20,000 and a sellout on homecoming, I’d say not worth the dollars to expand. However, the student side deserves some nice restrooms - not porta-potties!

No one other than diehards want to come see a coin flip. We only win 53% of our home games against FBS teams. We'd have to win 4 of 5 for the next 16 years just to get our home FBS win percentage over 60%. Fans want to be associated with winners. To me, winning 4 out of 5 FBS home games is the biggest goal we could set for the program each year. Winning the division, bowl eligibility, etc.. will take care of itself if we win 5 of 6 homes games each year (assuming we ALWAYS win the FCS home game). We have to go back to 2013 to find the last time we won 4 home games against FBS teams. Maybe we would have in 2020 had we played 4 home games. I haven't really looked into this data but its showing our home field advantage in conference games (from 1989-2021) as being 113 out of 120 teams. We actually have a negative home scoring margin. It sounds about right. www.boydsbets.com/college-football-home-field-advantage/

Losing homecomings all the time hurts too.

Watching 3 yards and a cloud of dust and overall unimaginative offensive schemes really tire your ass out in a hurry. Not really worth the trip to watch. I can watch on ESPN, switch channels to other games and then back to Ball state and not miss anything exciting or Neu. It is as if the TV had been on paws.
