"This team is leaps and bounds above the previously coached teams in regards to fight/grit. I say Cards by 10 game one; Toledo goes cold game 2 and we somehow pull it out!

Look, I want to believe we have a chance. I frankly just don't see it, for the following reasons:
Injuries. This one is obvious. Sparks, Boogie, and other minor injuries that have nagged us all conference season.
Peak point. Neither us or them is necessarily peaking, but they seem to be heading in the right direction, while we are heading in the wrong one. 3 losses in a row for us, 2 W's in a row for them.
Bench. Our bench is incredibly short. We don't have enough players ready or prepared to play that can come off the bench and produce.
Prediction: (Hope I'm wrong) OU-78 BSU-65

It’s game day!!! Given our injuries and short bench, to get 3 wins in 3 days may seem insurmountable. However, this is where the toughness & discipline Coach has instilled comes into play. I do like our chances today against Ohio U.

Today is the day! Very excited. Wish I was in Cleveland. I would be but we figured out our kids are coming to town this weekend so we had to scrap plans.
Ball State's last tournament win came in 2019 when as the #11 seed we upset #6 EMU.
Our last win in the quarter-finals came in 2017.
Our success in Cleveland has been very weak. We won the first tournament played there in 2000 but none since.
The move to Cleveland marked the rise of the Kent State and Akron programs in MAC Tournament success. Prior to the move Kent State had 1 MAC Tournament Championship and Akron zero.
In the 22 tournaments played since the move to Cleveland Akron or Kent State have won 9 of 22 tournaments. Kent State 5 and Akron 4. Ohio has also won 4 and so has Buffalo.

Once again the regular season doesn't mean a thing (I wish it did). The new coach did a decent job during the conference season and is now faced with the dreaded MAC Tournament. Can he pull a rabbit out of the hat...I doubt it.

The #4 Seed has won the MAC Tournament 5 times.
2022 Akron
2007 Miami
2005 Ohio
1998 Eastern Michigan
1995 Ball State
The #4 Seed made it to the tournament finals one other time. 1997 Eastern Michigan.
