Hello Cardinal fans! First post on here and wanted to hear everyone’s thoughts on the season outlook for football? I honestly think this team has the potential to go 10-2 maybe even be competitive or win at Kentucky for that 11th win. Let me know your thoughts and would love to talk about this as I can’t wait for Saturdays at the Scheu this fall

This coaching staff couldn't put together a 10 win season with the Colt's roster.
Right now my season outlook stuck on 4 wins and that is the optimistic model.

Agree, he nailed it. Question: COVID saved Neu’s job in 2020. Will our new AD be soft on a football coach who has a terrible record in and out of conference if the record goes south of 500 this year! Like Neu, but he has an absolute terrible record as football coach.

Like Neu, but he has an absolute terrible record as football coach. IMO the new AD will NOT be soft on Mike in terms of his record. New guy is very competitive and wants to win. Yes, he probably likes the "culture" of Mike's program but the bottom line will be results. Results get butts in seats and attract advertisers, donors, etc. I'm sure the contract will play into things given the Universities reluctance/inability to do big buy outs. Another big emphasis of Mitchell is community engagement. That means he's gonna want Neu to get out there and be visible and interact, which, is out of Mike's comfort zone/interest. so we'll see. I can't imagine 6 wins this year, let alone 7 or 8. I really do think if we end up with 4 or so there will be changes of some kind.

Yea I agree this new guy and the people he has hired are not going to play around. Only thing that would hold it back is funding

Without that the result is penny pinching on a new hire or hurting the rest of the Department. Doing a buy out counting on results to generate revenue to pay for it's costs is folly. This guy has good plans to expand revenue but I won't hold my breath that the results add up to much. I'm hopeful BB can bring in a few good opponents for good crowds and expand season tickets, but if that happens it's doubtful the best use is to pour it into FB.

Football is a loss leader, no doubt. But, we’re gonna keep having football; they aren’t going to drop it. So if we’re going to continue to have it we need to be serious about running it.

We want to be serious about and successful. But keeping it doesn't mean we NEED to be all that successful. I fear being really successful requires resources we aren't going to have. The serious effort hopefully will help keep it from being an embarrassment.

I got on ChatGPT and asked:
It's response:
What kind of a horseshit, non-commit answer is that? You'll help a kid plagiarize a term paper, but you won't give practical predictions that could help me place a wager. AI is useless.
