I also look for akron to be better. I gotta be honest I keep looking at the schedule and I see 4 games we should win no matter what but winning 5-6-7 are toss ups based on last year and unknowns on our side

If we only win 4 then Neu needs to go.

This is a time to play as many players as possible. They are a great team that could be national champs again. Who cares the score. Test players, test play calling. Let the players have fun. I’d love a win, but we aren’t playing a MAC team or Indiana State. Enjoy the opportunity to play the two time defending national champions. I am not sure we get that much information whatever we do, but playing combinations which are not the best for us, is very unlikely to give much good information. We don't need disorganization along with a talent disparity, what kind of test is that?
I'm not sure how you test things or even what you are testing against a team so much better. At least not by playing literally as many players as possible.
OTOH, playing mostly our regular rotation of solid players and bringing in "good" substitutes in the limited number we may have. If that is what you mean by "as many as possible," then I can see that.
The "test" Calhoun suggested above is what I see. Throw our more or less regular rotation out there and see if anybody can match up and make a play. Other than that what we may see is how much time we go with the starting QB, whoever, and how much we play whoever the other guy is, and how much we see both in the game. That would test different style of play, and maybe some different combinations, without using up all our options.
Difficult to figure out what's the right thing to do. You've got to come out with your best and see how things go and that doesn't mean by running a trick play in the first series. But with the obvious talent disparity, I'm not sure that we can really learn much from playing lower level players. I'm not sure that you can evaluate who gets manhandled the least. Big thing to me is not keep playing starters if it's really lopsided so that we don't get anyone hurt. It's just a tough, tough situation for everyone. Too, so many things that we don't do well enter the picture, too. Clock management ain't one of our strong points and in my opinion, we should never snap the ball outside of 5 seconds remaining on the play clock. That's not playing to lose, that's just keeping the ball out of their hands and giving them less opportunity to scire,

If we only win 4 then Neu needs to go. I'm not even sure I'd want to continue with him if he wins 6. We can't sustain being a 4-6 win program 6 out of every 7 years. And I don't think our new AD is gonna be very patient. That dude wants to WIN.

New mentioned last night that we are indeed going with the 2 QB look with both Hatcher and Kelly on the field together. Hope that translates to wins.
