Jacobs was really the glue, made a difference. A defensive stopper.
I'm hoping Middleton matures into a player like that.

We would be better with Sparks, or Sellers, or Coleman. But the guy we lost who would definitely make us a lot better is the guy we were never going to have this year, and that's Jacobs. We could survive with our current interior guys if we had solid all-around guard play. Anderson does a decent jobs filling Seller's spot. But Jacobs is the guy we really miss. I wonder if Brittain-Watts would have been a decent Jacob's replacement? Guess we'll never know unless he comes back next season.

Saw that Sparks got the start against Kennesaw State. Ware was a scratch due to illness. Looks like Woodson considers Sparks as the backup center hence the start. 10 points, 8 boards and 4 blocks.
Everybody says he played well. Got big thunder dunk on put back on fast break.

Yeh, just think if IU hadn't recruited Ware. But then again if not Ware, they would have brought in someone else. Back to the bench and limited minutes with Ware's return. He's wasting a year of eligibility, but he's getting the big bucks and has a great front row seat at IU games for compensation.

Big 10 Announcers kept saying on the broadcast of the game how "gassed" Ware looked because he missed the last game due to Covid, yet the IU coach was unwilling to trust Sparks with any court time. Can we go back to calling him a bench sitter now?
IU played 10 in the game. Must mean Sparks is #11 on the depth chart at best.

Coleman at Nebraska: Games | 10 | Minutes | 137 | FG % | 23.5% | 3PT % | 19.0% | FT % | 63.6% | Rebounds | 20 | Assists | 26 | Steals | 3 | Turnovers | 17 | Blocks | 1 | Fouls | 11 |
Saw no action vs. IU. In three BIG 10 games has only seen three minutes (vs. Minnesota in a loss).

Wonder what the post game comments were between Coleman and Sparks were ? Probably, something like, "How much of your NIL money did you get to keep after taxes?" Or they might have compared how comfy the benches are at each others home arenas.

If anyone is bored, UCF has rallied from 16 down to take 48-44 lead over Kansas. Sellers leads with 16 points. Game is on ESPN+.
