Starting 5 isn't cohesive but all can improve not just as individuals but in playing together.
Depth also suspect. Off the bench Doughty will get steadily better and Middleton has potential. Bell is a little better than I expected. That still just adds up to undeveloped potential, and nothing good early.
Really need the experience of Watts, his missing time doesn't help with the team play that's missing.
ODU will be a real challenge. They can't be this raw.

Mentioned on the broadcast tonight, but we’re going to play faster this year. Hopefully not so much running up and down jacking up 3’s constantly though. Post game will be lacking so hopefully we have some slashers develop and get to the free throw line consistently.

Middleton will be a stud, especially if he learns to get others involved even more than he did tonight. Tended to go a little to lone wolf at times and still had 7 assists.

I liked that after he missed every attempt early, Lewis kept pushing the ball in to him and he did end up with some inside success. |

He, Anderson and Bailey all had flashes where they looked good. Bell surprised. Seems more than I expected to know what he was supposed to do, but not quite in synch. Hitting shots like he did, his activity on defense and his long arms may get him PT. |

Speaking of shirts with names, I realize we want to go all-IU and focus on team instead of individuals, but it would be nice to have names the first few games in this Portal Friendly environment.
