I still contend that had we developed Kelly as a passer from the outset of the season we’d be looking at a bowl game. This staff’s confusion and/or stubbornness and/or taking too long to figure out have been perennial issues. They made a bet on a pretty good player, and on their conventional system. It didn't work out...
The latter factor had to also involve their recruiting choices and opportunities where they have several guys who fit that system.

One thing to remember he was scout team and then 3rd string so even in practice he was not throwing for almost 2 years

Not all that unusual, not for 1 a year anyway, some are essentially athletes.

He or any Qb would go through the drills but actually getting snaps behind the line running real plays next to none
