The field goal was maybe a little low but the Miami player really got up to block it.

I predicted it before the season, this was a 6-6 squad, possibly a 7-5 squad with a bad game by someone else (Toledo?). The staff f'ed around with QB assignments and offensive calls for the first 5 games (but more like the first 6) and never settled on a QB. Kelly has been hear for 3 years. Semonza showed up this Spring. Hatcher was here in January for Spring Semester. You knew how to coach Kelly, yet we went with the two unknowns for too long and did not let Kelly settle in as a starter. Kelly can't throw for shit, but we had three years to work on that. What happened? 4-8? No. There were two, if not 3 wins to find in that mess. Neu needs to stop being so loyal to certain coaches. Lynch needs to go. Special teams (especially Hagee, needs to go). Should not have missed that last 42 yd FG today. Shouldn't have missed a 52 yd FG at BG either. What does Hagee have to do with a freshman just kicking too low on that last kick? He had no problems with the other 3 FGS. The one at BG was just a little short. That was asking a lot. The kick was rushed. He wasn’t prepared. He hit a 45 with the wind. He kicked low to try and get distance into the wind on the last one (42 yds). |

I fully expected Miami to win today. And I do think they were pretty conservative against us. And we still found a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Miami blocked 2 fg today so ours getting blocked isn’t all that surprising now. They have some dudes who can get penetration and get up. Much like Longwood…
