I’m not gonna say that you don’t make some valid points. But, it’s hard to argue that the MAC is on par with the Mountain West just because they’re both G5 conferences. From a facilities, resources, and community support standpoint I just don’t think it’s remotely a comparable situation. But as The Dude would probably say: that just, like, my opinion, man. I don't know anything about the new AD, but his comments when he extended Neu seemed short sighted to me. I get that his hands are tied on extending Neu, but making the comments about how solid the culture is, etc. seemed like it was obviously something that could look very silly very fast. If you say "I'm going to keep this head coach because our culture is awesome and everyone is bought in" and then within the next 3 weeks all the good players go into the portal, we reshuffle the offensive deck chairs, and the one bright spot on the coaching staff bails, you look foolish.
I get the decision, but the statement supporting the decision to me suggests that he doesn't know how the game is played.

He didn't extend Neu. He simply didn't fire him with years left on his contract.
His statement was AD speak. AKA pure bullshit.

Footballscoop pretty much confirms Stockton to Boise (posted today 21DEC); no idea who BJ Rains is, nevertheless:

Co DC and Safeties Coach. Def got a pay raise w those titles. Hopefully Neu will hire someone from outside the program but I’m sure he will just promote Hall to DC and backfill his position w a grad assistant(Murray or White).
Any word on the RB coach? I’m sure alot of coaches see it’s a sinking ship and don’t want to be one & done..

the pay raise is hard to turn it down. do we have a defense coaches that could be a good DC? or do we need to go outside the staff?
