With all of basheers problems you guys are all smoking crack if you think we can get one player who is going to replace those numbers Of course not, but Sparks replaces his rebounding and inside scoring, at the least, a good guard or wing replaces or improves on his outside shooting and ball handling. Such a player can match or improve his impact on D. We're not looking for another C. We have some size. And, playing with Sparks in a two big lineup as a 4, we both lose and gain. We do lose a good player. But, it's now a different offense. If we're 1-4 instead of 5 out, Jihad may not fit as well as a sharpshooting wing. And team defense would be an issue since neither of those bigs are all that great inside D or able to guard out on the floor. One would have to guard a forward. A quicker player may help us produce some pressure on D and more on the break. The big loss is when Jihad drew fouls, he hit FTs and that is an area Sparks hurts us.

You use sparks to replace basheer which is kinda iffy cause the moment we added sparks Next year lookef quite different because of having both. So Ill word my smoking crack reference differently.. If you think we are better team only having sparks as opposed to having both. Not only are smoking crack your amazingly doing it with your head shoved up your own ass

Not only are smoking crack your amazingly doing it with your head shoved up your own ass The team with both isn't as good as it first looks. It's not a good defensive team and the two together on offense would not be perfect fit. It could be a good team.on offense if we added a good PG, but with Sparks inside if we replace Jihads shooting we'll also be a good offense. And easily can be a better defense. Paying both Jihad and Sparks I'm not sure we could add 2 good guards. With one we can do that. And we need backcourt. I'm not happy losing Jihad, but there's a path to being a good team. Improved over this year greatly.. Better D, more depth, Better post play. Better backcourt. Just as it always did it depends on adding guard play.

with or with out we had/have to add guards... Payton trad center type, Basheer moves out some plays the Mason Jones position, Jones used in more of a back up role. Brittain watts or another to be named pg, Pearson/juco/portal/jones and bailey/portal.
Its not that tough...2 all Mac players returning when everyone else has none.... Dont argue just for something to do lol

Every player at every school is in the portal no matter if they have declared or not. Someone shows interest in them and they'll be in the portal if for no other reason than to explore possibilities.
It's a horribly broken process. Nobody should be surprised by anything that happens.

The scent of money is powerful and we flat have been lax in creating a competitive collective that can match what these kids are getting offered elsewhere. NOW it feels like the wheels are really coming off. Both starting guards and All MAC power forward gone and it's just getting ridiculous how much money is flying around from somewhere. Guys who could get recruited over are getting nice money to leave. "NIL" isn't even a thing. It's pay for play 100% and we at little ol BSU are still trying to do the NIL game for a pittance. As Matt Painter said, NIL was not supposed to be about which schools could pay the most to buy kids.

I totally agree we were at least temporarily well ahead of the pack by getting Sparks and keeping Jihad. But I am not going to cry too much. Getting him cost a chunk of NIL money, those big guys demand it. Without him we have more NIL money to get better guards.
Whoever guards Sparks is going to stay home in the post and let him shoot 15 footers. Hard for Jihad to get to the rim against packed defense.
You're right we would have to find probably two more guards if he stayed, we needed at least one more (moderately expensive) guard. Now have an extra scholarship and more NIL and can very likely get 2 pretty good players for the price of one all conference player.
It was surprisingly effective how well we played without Jihad at the end of the season. A big part of that was the defense and increased activity.

I understand money but that’s simply a lack of integrity and respect!
I don’t think loosing all the players is a huge deal but Jihad and Bailey matter!

Does his childhood buddy and AAU teammate, Brittain-Watts, follow Bailey out the door? Thought I read how excited they were to play together again.
