I know nothing about the women's volleyball program, but I have young nieces and a nephew that are ALWAYS defensive if you hand out constructive criticism. I have noticed this in their friends also. I am not talking about yelling and screaming but just in the course of normal conversation. They will try to cut your comments short and justify any behavior they have demonstrated. My father was a coach and gave this type of ''advise' all the time. I had many coaches that my Dad told me to listen to. I was ''coachable''. I listened and learned and it made me a better athlete. Maybe today's kids have not been taught that one learns more from listening than talking back and trying to rationalize their actions.

Sounds like he still wants to be involved in teaching and working with kids at Munciana.

I certainly hope that he continues to be involved in the lives of the kids in Muncie. I always cherished the term ''Coach''. It has a special meaning for me. I am positive with all the work Steve did at Burris and Ball State he has certainly earned the stripes to be called ''Coach''. He has been a positive force for years. Keep up the good work Coach. Good luck in what ever you choose to do.
