I have never seen the stands so empty on a nice day and start of season. Semonza accuracy save our ass from getting beaten by FCS team. Defense had some bright spots and also some dim ones. The cynical use of Kelly made it hard for him to cover up his disgust and depression as he threw his glove against the bench. Running him inside twice instead of bouncing out sealed his fate to a storage unit somewhere on Kilgore Ave. Play calling? Agree not much has changed run into the line and on 3rd down pass to get the 8 to ten yards get sacked and punt. I think we will improve because talent level is better. Need more imagination in play calling . Did we run a reverse? Toledo finalloy got it figured out today and NIU and their offensive line did it to ND. I think we will be better than Kent, Central, Buffalo, maybe eastern and Western. Missouri was stopped by good defense but when defense let down thehy made us pay dumb ass off side penalties, and pass interferance about gave it away except we have this year an all American running back that saved us It's really sad what BSU football has become. The game was pretty boring in general. No energy. I'm not seeing it with Semonza. Kent must be awful. Saint Francis PA? It's far from a guarantee we will be better than CMU, UB, or WMU. Agree. Semonza accuracy on downfield throws was terrible. I don't think he hit anything but short passes all day. Not a chance we beat WMU. They should've beat Wisconsin. We BARLEY beat an unranked FCS team. At best we win 2-3 games this year. Whats that noise... Oh thats the beeping of the moving truck backing up to Neu's house....

I don't want to tear Semonza down at all. I like his style. But it's insane to me how little we let him throw downfield. Our offense is so vanilla that we either run it or do short passes, can Kelly really not even throw the ball on our 3-4 yard routes? Kelly brings such an added dimension when you let him drop back and the field opens up.
This season is going to be infuriating. Both Semonza and Kelly are put in a really tough situation here.

I think losing both Bowick and Robinson really cut into the game planning and we our deep threats. Those two guys on the outside are studs and it took awhile to adjust to not having them. Especially losing Robinson on the first damn play of the game. And then Firestone went out. We had to go with backup WRs the rest of the way, plus Magwood. Those 3 did a really good job. Also lost Webster, who would have been in the backfield some and would have gotten some underneath routes as a TE. Can't see Kelly at BSU next year. He's been royally effed over for 3 years.

Agreed that hurt. But why not throw to Koziol. The kid is 6'7" the guys covering him all day are 5'10" to maybe 6'. Throw it high, he can jump out of a gym.

Even so, if we don't have WR's to throw to, sticking with your throwing QB over your running QB doesn't make sense. Everyone has a plan until they are punched in the mouth. We got punched hard in the mouth by the circumstances, but we didn't adjust.

I like Neu. He's been a good face for the program, but it's nearing time to say goodbye. Our QB and WR recruiting has been piss poor over the last nine years. Don't have those you ain't winning games

The team and crowd is pretty flat. Little to no buzz. . Insufficient pregame tailgating. Well BSU has a new stadium security service (CSC) and they are threatening to severely limit tailgating (at least in the Gold and White lots) starting with the next game. Their interactions with people who have been tailgating there for 20-30 years kind of put a cloud over the festivities. CVC I'm sure is receiving some pretty harsh calls this morning. There were some really upset people who are paying $1500 plus to park and tailgate there.

For an announced crowd of 10K (with the actual being around half that), getting into the parking area and even the stadium seemed like an unnecessary hassle. Almost 10 minutes from the Gold lot for the 150 yards into the stadium as the ticket-taking line blended into the will-call and walk-up sales. Why does BSU make this so hard?

Limit people to only using the 2-3 feet behind their parking spot for tailgating. In a 2/3 to 1/2 empty parking lot. Personally, we've always had an agreement that if spots were needed we'd clear out our chairs. Never had an issue. Even in 2008 we've never had to move our chairs or anything else. Back then we could go back to the tailgate at halftime and more after the game. We get people to the game who otherwise would not be attending by having these tailgate parties, and our people all go into the game and actually attend it. That won't happen any more if we have to limit our parties to a handful of people.

The police directing traffic were not organized and ready to go at 11:00 am. It took them some time to get set up and create order to the traffic.

I'm looking forward to getting Bowick and Robinson back before complaining about the passing game.

Once in the parking lot, it was indeed a mess. Many season ticket holders had to get in line to get tickets, unless you picked them up at Worthen. Used to send them out in the mail, now it's pick up.
CVC will send you parking hang tags, but not tickets.
