What's the scoop on this UJ? How are they planning to curtail tailgating? Limit people to only using the 2-3 feet behind their parking spot for tailgating. In a 2/3 to 1/2 empty parking lot. Personally, we've always had an agreement that if spots were needed we'd clear out our chairs. Never had an issue. Even in 2008 we've never had to move our chairs or anything else. Back then we could go back to the tailgate at halftime and more after the game. We get people to the game who otherwise would not be attending by having these tailgate parties, and our people all go into the game and actually attend it. That won't happen any more if we have to limit our parties to a handful of people. Is that what Mitchell thinks is part of this revamped "experience?" Or is that something the University is doing and it's out of his hands? We cannot get out of our own way. We are constantly stepping on rakes (our own dicks) At the rate we're going there will be no BSU football in about 5 years or so after we're so deep in the financial hole and not remotely competitive in the new landscape of "college" football.

The police directing traffic were not organized and ready to go at 11:00 am. It took them some time to get set up and create order to the traffic. Coming in off McGalliard was easy enough.
Once in the parking lot, it was indeed a mess. Many season ticket holders had to get in line to get tickets, unless you picked them up at Worthen. Used to send them out in the mail, now it's pick up.
CVC will send you parking hang tags, but not tickets. Well, they don't really want you to use printed tickets. They want you to use an electronic version on your phone. Almost everyone I know asked to have their tickets printed. We picked ours up Friday. Others we were with got them before the game.

I feel like the athletic department has totally misread the fan "base." Or didn't try to read it at all. Most of us have been at this for awhile. We are the diehards, the stalwarts. We stayed through the 21 game losing streak, the early failing Hoke years, and Mike's stumbles and fumbles. So what do they do? Enact every change possible that turns us off. I don't get it.

I'm hoping it isn't BSU but rather the new security company (CSC). We've never had a real security company before. Just the baseball team or other students. We'll see what happens. CVC will be getting enough calls about it from upset people. Hell they don't even need security in the Gold Lot. Nothing wild ever happens there. I only set the parking lot on fire by accident once. Nothing to see here. Go patrol the wild side of Tillotson.

I, for one, am glad the university has finally decided to impose some control on the BSU fanbase, which has been out of hand for a long time with thuggish, lewd and wanton behavior in the Gold lot and elsewhere.

Come on Herman, you know that's not really the BSU fanbase. Three of the people pictured are walking without assistance, and one is clearly under 60 years of age(!)

I'm sure this isn't us. The guy with the sweater tied around his neck is most surely a Miami grad, right?

While we're complaining.... No promotion of the game unless you're on Twitter. StarPress hires a beat reporter the day or tow before the game. I believe the last StarPress article on BSU sports was after the BSU basketball game at Gainbridge last year. BSU could promote themselves, right? So, going into the game Saturday, I had nearly zero knowledge of the players/positions/assistant coaches. Get to the game, no programs, rosters, etc. I hear afterwards our top 2 receivers are out, but who knew during the game??? It's almost like they don't want us to know.....

The tailgate is a bigger attraction than the game...even when the games are competitive, and I am not so sure it isn't a good idea to be able to go in and out to the tailgate area, not discourage it.

Your $10 box seat voucher used to be good for two beers. Now they are $9 bucks. Thanks Kamala.

The doughnut truck was very popular. I usually sit with the recruits and players families. They all had to have a doughnut.

I don't want to tear Semonza down at all. I like his style. But it's insane to me how little we let him throw downfield. Our offense is so vanilla that we either run it or do short passes, can Kelly really not even throw the ball on our 3-4 yard routes? Kelly brings such an added dimension when you let him drop back and the field opens up. This season is going to be infuriating. Both Semonza and Kelly are put in a really tough situation here. With Kelly as the starting qb we struggled to score 20 points. A lot of that is coaching, but I like Semonza to help improve the offense this year. We didn't have our best receivers and scored 42. Get those guys back and we can open it up a bit. Also, the wind definitely played a role on Saturday especially on deep balls. It was blowing pretty hard all game. The passing game is the least of my worries for this team.

Having an former Eagle Scout volunteer their expertise to create a bonfire with DuraFlames is not a guarantee of safety or success.
