Neu has shown a great deal of loyalty to the Lynch family. If Lynch were to display that same level of loyalty to Neu he would immediately resign when Neu is fired.

I really believe that Ball State will eventually find a coach that wins these kinds of games. Such a coach could lead the program to the promised land...the mountain top...the ultimate prize: The Rid-X Septic Treatment Bowl in Schenectady, NY.

I almost didn’t want Tanner to score there at the end. Knew that was too much time left for CMU. Wish we could have bled a few more seconds in the red zone then, but telling a player to not score a TD when you’re losing is obviously silly.
Things I hope to never see again after today:
-The WR screen thrown from one hash to the opposite yardage markers. That play is too slow to develop, we don’t have the blockers to execute it, and it’s never worked. We threw one out there to Kelly for -7 yards today. Scrap that crap play.
-Reghi on the play by play. He’s insufferable. All he can do is read player bio info (height/weight/grade/hometown/transfer status). Half the time he mixes up players and teams. I heard him say Gillie played defense for us multiple times today. He also said he played for CMU a couple of times. I know there are a lot of players and numbers out there, but he’s consistently bad. He’s the same for bball games also.
-Our defense gashed for multiple plays/possessions in a row without a timeout being called. Our coaches need to be able to stop the opposing team’s momentum when things get out of hand. I think our offense proved we can move the ball with limited time. I know CMU had a crappy defense, but the majority of the teams in our conference do not have great defenses either. We don’t need to save all of timeouts for offense.
-Going for it on 4th down when we have a 2 possession lead.
Things I hope to continue to see:
-Vertical passing game.
-Koziol being a stud with lots of targets.
-Kelly involved on offense like he’s supposed to be all along.

You sound like Charlie Brown’s teacher when you talk football.

I keep questioning myself as to why do I keep watching this team play. Honestly, who didn't see that ending coming?

I really believe that Ball State will eventually find a coach that wins these kinds of games. Central Michigan was not only a winnable game, it was most definitely winnable with :53 left. I really, really wanted this Mike Neu thing to work but that ship sailed a long time ago. On an unrelated note, I wonder if Brady Hunt will get his first catch of the year tonight. Brady Hunt did - 1 catch for 11 yards. I wonder if these kids regret chasing the P5/P4 hype to sit on the bench? Ball State can find a HC that can win 65% of our games! We are the only MAC school in Indiana and are close to Chicago, Detroit, & western OH which gives us plenty of great HS players that the BigTen doesn't sign. The campus is pretty darn nice now, academics are solid, and our FB facilities are much better in the last 5 years. No excuses!
