Yes, when I see a business selling products to eager customers I get pissed off too. Who the hell do they think they are producing goods others want and are willing to pay for? amazed= pissed off? Uh-oh. Guess I need to check the dictionary before using that word again. You were amazed that adults fell for it. You were pissed off that businesses would pull that type of crap. Don't stoop to 00 tactics.

I don't see any reason to think Sherm is pissed at businessmen. Only perhaps Ball State fans.
But then, does he need a reason? He's kind of testy, volatile, no doubt wakes up pissed too often.

Well I can hardly blame the members here for thinking I'm crabby and testy and pissed off all the time since I been crabby, testy and pissed off on this board and its predecessor for 24 consecutive years. But you have to consider that we have been here discussing 24 consecutive years of shitty, losing, underperforming, excuse-making, mismanaged basketball, so my attitude has reflected that situation.

You know, I remember in the Buckley years that people here were spoiled from years of winning and seemed to think that it was BSU basketball's birthright to always win and nothing could seriously threaten that. I think this prevented them from being as alarmed as they should have been at the signs that the program was slipping under Buckley. (Blame the coach or the administration or whoever you want). They were in denial. That was where I first got sideways with a lot of people on this board.

Actually signing Ray at low pay was the start of it. BSU had success with that, made a fatal error to think they could win on the cheap and damned if it didn't work. That time.
Why pay him what he turned out to be worth? Let him go. Last time hiring an assistant at relatively low was fine.
Why not do it again? And again, and again...

Had Basheer stayed, I think we would be a potential top 3 contender to win the league. We still might be but I will reserve judgement until I see us play a few times. We have better guard depth than any team in Lewis' first two years and with Sparks return we should have the best big man in the league. It really comes down to chemistry with so many new faces and how well some of our players have developed, both skill and strength. Supposedly the new strength guy the mens and womens teams are sharing is the real deal. I'm curious to see how much bigger and physical and cut Doughty and Jones are versus their freshman year. We need them to be really solid along with Hendricks in his 7th year of eligibility. Joking on that but he and Pearson might be sprouting gray hair except Pearson doesn't have any hair. Sorry Mickey.

Lewis said Big Ben will look much different this year because he's been repaired and can get stuff done in the weight room now. Joked that he now looks like an adult. Said he really gained a lot of respect for Ben with how he totally sacrificed his body for the team and had a "do whatever it takes to win" attitude. This year he can actually work on his game in addition to getting work in the weight room. I liked how Ben competed and played his ass off last year, pretty much with just one arm. Made some real contributions.
Michael was asked about BSU becoming more supportive of all that it takes to support a winning program. "uh, we're getting there." He did say he handled some things related to that poorly last year and let it distract him from the mission. Said there are a lot of hands touching the program... (implying some meddling) And he's still very obviously pissed about Boogie bailing in August. He also very obviously Stoked about having Sparks back.

He's barely taller than Tidrow, but he can jump out of the gym. Sounds like Sparks is gonna be a load. I'm very excited to see Hart on the floor and curious if Jones will be more of a contributor on offense and if Doughty will ever live up to initial hype. Michael is being nice about the ineptness of the U and the athletics department.

How did Bill Buckner do the year after that ground ball went through his legs?

He suggested that you read the article about JMU’s commitment to D1 athletics. I did. Ball State and the MAC need to learn from it. They are new to D1 and are competitive. We are a fifty year D1 program that is mediocre at best. Tired of it. If Lewis is successful and moves on after a great year, good for him and good for BSU. Find another Lewis to come in and continue the success. Lewis is challenging the University to step up their game - I agree and in football as well. Tired of losing! JMU and numerous new comers have shown you can have success, come on Ball State and MAC and commit to success!!!

Where is this article about JMU success being mentioned? I think I'd like to read it.
