That's a bummer. Hopefully getting some more consistent at bats will get him back on track

I've been without my computer for the past two weeks so I was not able to comment sooner. Jeremy in my opinion showed he can hit in the big leagues. The Cardinals quit playing him in the last month other than as a pinch hitter defensive replacement. His average is .250 and under .200 for the last 30 days. He has hit well at Memphis currently at .360. Last night New Orleans pitcher Jose Urena threw at his head & Jeremy was ejected after charging the mound. Urena did throw a punch then and both benches got into it with six players ejected. Hazelbaker was one of the six and will be fined. The video is available at the Memphis Commercial Appeal. He has hit well enough to get a look somewhere if not in St Louis this season. I feel it is unlikely the Cards will release him or call him up before September unless they have an injured outfielder.

Very clear that guy intentionally threw at Haze's head and you just do not do that.

Don't you just love baseball?...... oh, and a mid major school from 45 minutes south of me concentrated on baseball and won the NCAA championship yesterday.....but, if they had only put money in football, they could be just like us.

Not having an FBS football team is why they won a baseball championship? So if we get rid of football, Ball State will win a baseball championship? That's awesome!
Maybe we could be like Radford (19-39) or Asheville (16-38)?

Initially after the game he was ejected he was not in the lineup for 7 games & then he was placed on the 7 day disabled list. I have checked the Memphis Redbirds Official Site & have yet to see a posting as to why he is on the disabled list.
I will note that a second former BSU player Dean Anna has been hitting well for the past three weeks & his average is up to .253 with 1 homer & 26 rbis. He has been starting at 2b for Memphis & is on the 40 man St Louis roster.

Jeremy was recalled by the Cardinals today. Let's hope he gets a chance to play.

Hazelbaker has started the past 2 games for the Cardinals. He finally hit his 8th homer last night & had a triple on Thursday. Cardinals have three players coming off dl in next 10 days. Jeremy is at .248 8 hrs & 21 rbis. He and Tommy Pham who has hit five homers in past 2 weeks are battling for one probable outfield spot when the players come off dl. Jeremy has to take advantage of every at bat to stay up. Note he & Pham have both hit in .240s since call back from Memphis.
