NIU has the #11 ERA (5.99), and has the #6 Batting Avg. (.261), yet they are tied for 1st with us at 12-6. We need to separate quickly.

NIU seems to be getting very lucky against a lot of MAC opponents who seem to overlook them. I remember quite well when BG beat us in the MAC tourney with in my opinion a team inferior to the Cards and always worry in baseball with someone getting all the breaks in a game in the tourney. My hope is our pitching is at its best the next three weeks and we can play error free ball then we can win the west.

Agree. Trouble is.......Kent has some very strong pitching and our hitting has taken a bit of a leave of absence.
I'd take some of those "breaks" come tournament time.

Outside of the third inning that ended Brockhouse's day, the Cards took care of business as they should at home. Spaulding and Butler had great games, hopefully we won't need to learn as heavily on the bullpen tomorrow.

Brockhouse has struggled filling in for Plesac. We're not strong in a 3 game series with our pitching. It will be tough come tournament.
Got outhit but will take the win.

Yeah Brockhouse was better out of the bull pen. Hopefully Plesac isn't injured and his arm issues are short term.

Hate to hear that. Explains his struggles this year. Let's get those bats hot and bag a tournament for him.
