These are good games to prepare for MAC play.

These are good games to prepare for MAC play. If you were to say, "This is the world we live in now where we will have difficulty in getting quality opponents to Worthen" then I would agree.
But, no. These aren't good games to prepare. We were middle of the pack in the MAC in RPI and the above teams were worse save Indiana State. By a lot.

Bradley, ISU, EKU, IUPUI, St Louis are often higher rated than MAC programs. Close enough certainly to the MAC norm to be useful to provide competition. AlaSt and Longwood I am not so familiar with, but we are unlikely, as you say, to get even higher level teams to play home and home games. Good preparation is possible against decent teams. We all noted the glaring problem with IU-K and a few other very weak teams last year.
Already on this schedule are at least the 5 teams who are reasonably strong and good regional rivalries. If we have home and home with such programs we will get a lot of good out of that.

Oh please, those five teams won a total of 31 league games last season and only IUPUI had a winning record and finished in the top half of their conference. Sheeesh..............

IUPUI will hand us our lunch this year. Gardner is building a helluva roster. If it comes together they can be pretty good.

It's pretty disappointing. IUPUI of all places is getting impact players and we aren't. What's even worse is IPfreakingFW doing far better than we have. With not near the resources or tradition, etc. They've just been really well coached and organized.

I don't get it, the July evaluation period is over and thus far we have offered two guys we have almost no shot at, and a 6"1' project point guard who realistically isn't even a DI player. This is as bizarre as last year.

We appear to be recruiting 2018 harder than 2017. I guess we do our recruiting in May.
