Tyler is a solid guard, Persons wasn't the freshman of the year at EKU for nothing and Kiapway has improved greatly and Sellers can play the 2 easily. Add El Amin and Walker next year, I'd say that's a pretty deep back court !

You are joking, right ? Of the guards we have, only Kiapway is a sure thing starter and will likely do so with Persons at least trying the point. Tyler doesn't score nor does he handle the 1 position well, he averaged 1 ASSIST/GAME last season why would he start ? Do you even watch basketball ? Most people will disagree with you about our backcourtTyler is a SG. Had a slow start last year, played well the last half. Average 10 ppg in MAC play, shot 40% from 3pfga range. This is pretty much the same as Kiapway. He is much better on the drive than Francis, and is one of our best athletes. Higher than average rated recruit, played well as freshman until he had academic difficulty. He has not showed much ability as a play maker, but then he is often getting the ball in shooting position, and is a scorer in mentality. You, I, knowledgeable fans, and the coaches I have talked to would like him to use his athletic ability on defense more than he does. That is where Kiapway far exceeds him. It is possible Kiapway and Persons start but Tyler is the more natural 2G. Seems likely to me that he, Francis and Persons will share minutes pretty evenly.

Rusty, you are so correct! If I read Halftime's post correctly he believes we have no D 1 talent at the guard position. First, Tyler is obviously not a PG but my guess is he will start at the # 2...he is a scorer and the most athletic on the team. I believe Persons will start at the point with Kipaway getting minutes at both the # 1 & 2. While Sellers will play the # 3 he may also see minutes at the # 2 as well.
This team is certainly the deepest at the Forward spot we've been in years and may be the deepest of any team in the MAC at this position. Weber, House, Sellers, Teague, Mallers, and Hollywood. House was 2nd team All MAC.
With Moses having a year under his belt we will be solid at every position. While I understand that Moses may not be the bruiser many would like, but he is very solid..he can score and rebound. He passes very well as a post player.
In the post season, I believe Moses averaged 13+ points and 5-6 reb per game which suggests he was coming on strong at the end of his Freshman year!
This year's edition of the Cards is positioned well for post season.

Crawford said in an article today to expect Mallers and Hollywood to redshirt Must mean Teague is ready to go, expected to replace Bo. I'd like one of those guys ready to play. I guess we might use Weber more with Sellers at the same time. Another year of smaller ball unless DouDou can play.

Crawford said in an article today to expect Mallers and Hollywood to redshirt Longer term I guess this is going to mean we are lucky then to have these guys play in the program 5 years.

I look for DaoDye very few minutes..we may move House to the post for 3-4 minutes
I think Mallers and Hollywood red shirting is a very good sign

If we don't HAVE to play Hollywood and Mallers that is indeed a good thing.

Article said expect Teague to see significant playing time but not expect him to light up a box score. In there for defense and rebounding, Im guessing he can jump and block some shots and will get his points from the garbage can.

He really doesn't have much of an offensive game. Not yet at least.

As far as Mallers goes I don't expect much from him ever. I think he is probably a kid that come in and hit a couple spot up threes but not much more. A redshirt can only help him though and hopefully I am wrong about him. Hollywood I have no idea what we are getting he came about so late and outside of a mixtape there was not a lot of tape on him.

Doudou will probably be needed for more time than we used Wells last year. We will have trouble when House or Moses is off the floor against several big teams unless we get something out of him. Maybe we can live with the trouble, I believe small ball can sometimes allow that, especially on offense. But, it's nice to have options, and our defense would be so much better if we have a guy who can protect the area around the rim.

If we don't HAVE to play Hollywood and Mallers that is indeed a good thing. It's hard for me to imagine us not needing more front-line help, so I would look at the possible red-shirts as more of a long-term "good" for Mallers and Hollywood and more of a short-term "bad" for the team this season. If we win the MAC with a front line of House, Moses, Teague, Gueye, Weber and Sellers, it'll be quite an upset. Basically we lost Calhoun, Wells and Gill while adding Teague and Gueye. That's trading down, unless Teague is a lot more impressive than most of us think he'll be in his first year of college action.

Losing Gill is zero impact. Wells turned out to be minimal impact. Losing Calhoun will be a bigger impact than we realize. Unless some major improvement occurs we'll get just about nothing from Gueye. So it comes down to Teague. I don't think we should expect too much from him off the bat.
So yeah, the frontline will be very thin. Moses will have to learn to stay on the floor longer.
