Regardless of your own political preferences, what tactical move would you suggest the Democrats make at this point? It's a very interesting and finely balanced question. 1) Stay with the 20% of Joe Biden's brain that's still left over from what was never a very high functioning brain in its best days. 2) Switch to Kamala Harris who ran for president for a full year in 2020, couldn't crack 3% among Democratic primary voters and was kicked to the curb by her doners prior to the Iowa caucus. 3) Jump over Harris to someone else, which will send into a hysterical screeching frenzy the highly vocal and influential arm of the Democratic party for whom identity politics is EVERYTHING. Boy, I guess it seemed like a good idea to cover up Biden's condition at the time, eh? I mean, while you were getting away with it. For the record, I would recommend #2 as the least awful choice. It's gotta be #2. Both campaigns are at their best when the focus is on the other guy, because they are both such horrible candidates. Reset with Kamala, tell her to shut her mouth (cause the more she talks the less she's liked), and return the focus on Trump. I told a friend one time that the 2016 election was one of the worst days in recent American history, and he thought I meant the election of Donald Trump, but I actually meant the only two options being such insanely horrible options. Each election it has just gotten worse. I'm no Martin O'Malley fan, but if he'd somehow beaten Clinton and Sanders for the 2016 democratic spot I think the country would be in a lot better place right now.

There is more than a little debate about whether the BOR actually changed things much. I'm not familiar with this debate, but my sense is that it means a ton to have these things officially written down and approved as the law of the land. There is a pretty sound reasoning that the bill of rights should not have been adopted. With a federal government of explicit and limited powers, naming a bunch of things it cannot do opens the door to arguing "why would you say it can't do these specific things unless it otherwise could?" The 9th and 10th were intended to stop that argument. They failed.

I never realized Davis and Letterman were exposers. Don't you get put in jail for that sort of thing? Not in 2024.

I don't know what the women's basketball budget is but over the past few years the national exposure created by 20 win seasons has been worth the investment in having this team. I was thinking of CBS Sports, ESPN, ESPN plus and also the fact that in most years the MAC Women's basketball has been nationally respected due to Central MIchigan, Buffalo and I think Eastern Michigan a couple years back also Toledo. I also support non revenue sports that in spite of shoe string budgets are able to have bits and pieces of enough success to garner national attention and also enhance a positive image for the University. I cannot understand this position. I am primarily a Ball State football and men's basketball fan, but I spend quite a bit of time on this board, and I cannot tell you how many 20 win seasons the women's team has had. I know 2 or 3 years ago we lost to Buffalo in the tournament final, I watched some of that on TV since my family was out of town that weekend and I had time to kill. But if an avid fan of the football and men's basketball team just has a vague idea that the women's team has been decent (but not great) for the past few years, I can't imagine the team is getting any real national exposure. Perhaps its getting exposure among fans of college women's basketball. But 1) that's a fairly small segment of the population; and 2) how does that translate into a benefit for BSU? At Ohio State, Michigan, Alabama, Oregon, etc., there are probably students there who enrolled because they were such big fans of the program in high school, but at our level I'm guessing the only people who come to BSU for the athletics are the athletes (and maybe some girlfriends/boyfriends).

Knowing BSU, we will go 0-6, fire Neu, promote someone to interim head coach, he’ll go 2-4 or 3-3 with some surprising wins or really tough losses, we’ll remove the interim tag, he’ll be a total flop in full years 1-3, year 4 he’ll do just enough to justify not firing him. Nah we got a heavy soph/jr team neu will get canned and someone will cash in with his players You must be new here to think BSU is capable of having success.

Don't forget we've shot ourselves in the foot with play calling too. Way too many times. That’s something I’d like to forget.

We fail with QBs and it's just incredibly perplexing. didn't we have 2 QBs get signed as free agents recently under Neu - Wenning and Plitt? Wenning was drafted and was under Lembo.

Who's to say a head coach at our level making maybe $275K/yr decides he can live off $175K/yr and and decides it's a wise forward-looking investment to put the other $100K through the collective for the collective to pay his players, either anonymously or known. These collectives aren't transparent to that type of reporting. If BSU didn't get a penny besides that one $100K contribution, we could pick up at least 2-3 decent players. First, I don't know how things work in his household, but I'd say his wife might have a say in that one. Second, I also don't know how payroll handles coach pay or how the collectives pay the players, but making $275k does not necessarily mean he has a $100k lump sum handy he can apply to that payment. I would hope that making that kind of money he's not living paycheck to paycheck, but at least part of every paycheck is already going to be spoken for.

As long as we're not playing against him I look forward to rooting for him in the future. He's one where I'm kind of glad he's leaving for his own sake. We obviously cannot utilize him. Would not surprise me if he's competing for a Sun Belt championship before he's done.
