Long time overdue. I noticed on the rendering a "new aquatic center." Since we already have Llewellyn Aquatic Center, and no indoor field facility, wouldn't that take priority?
I hope something gets announced on an indoor facility.

Additional improvements are being
considered to renovate Worthen Arena for potential right
sizing of event seating and an addition to the building for
a new practice facility. A new Aquatics Complex is being
considered on the current site of the Lewellen Pool, and
will support both athletic and recreational swimming and
diving use.

It hasn't been updated since the early 70s. |

It hasn't been updated since the early 70s. Never said it was the best or even in the top half of the conference. Just pointing out that it is in place, and if replacement could be delayed a couple of extra years until we can get a well overdue indoor field facility completed, then, I feel that's the course to take. Everyone in the MAC has a pool. Not everyone in the MAC has an indoor facility (meaning Ball State is the only school without). |

With Northside Middle School possibly being on the chopping block, I wonder if there is some potential there. I haven't been in there since the late 80s, but I recall them having a fairly decent pool. Maybe a renovation/repurposing, and it would fit right in with the north athletics complex.

Also, when I was a student I kept hearing disturbing rumors about buildings all around campus filled with rooms where all the chairs faced the same direction and some jerk named "Professor" always stood where the chairs pointed and would blather on and on.... |

Yeah, that rumor is right. They also have a building used be full of books, too. Now there is a coffee shop and computer store, lots of internet terminals.
But they still have those funny rooms, sometimes even pay the professors to be there with student tuition money. Money that could go to pay a basketball coach.
Better attendance than basketball in those classrooms, but not as much attention perhaps.

Off subject, but.....
I once took "racquet sports" and they herded us downstairs, of the then Women's Gym, to what looked like a 1930's movie set of squash courts, handball courts, etc. Does that still exist?
