Doubt that he would drop all the way to the mid major level. He made three million dollars last year. If UJ was serious, agree. And, bsu canned creans buddy Buckley. Even if he were interested He'd avoid the job because of how Tim was treated Bring Buckley back as an assistant. We did well when he was an assistant.

As I mentioned in a previous post, Whitford has never made a connection with the community, alums, boosters and most importantly the fans (including students). I'm sure the appeal of living in a large city, A-10 school, more money and ultimately a more metro area lifestyle is a draw. His ex-wife lived in L.A. and now Chicago. When married they lived in Cincinnati and Tucson, both metro areas. It's a better fit for him and he's leaving the program in much better shape than he found it. Perhaps his successor will be able to recruit some legit bigs. That was Whitfords weakness by far. Ah, I wondered if they had split up. The program is indeed in much better shape but you are right that whit was not thrilled to be in Muncie. Never really made an effort to connect.

I'd need a barf bag every time I went to a game. I can't stomach him. Again I ask, why? Is it because he went to IU? Because he coached at IPFW? Did he kick your dog? Did he used to mow your lawn as a kid and do a shitty job?

Who will be the first to say bring back ray ray?
Majerus was linked to Duquesne when he was at bsu. He said he didn't even know where it was located let alone how to spell it. That was Rick.

I'd welcome Ray back, but I'm not sure he isn't damaged goods at this point. We'll probably end up with Dan Dickitch.

No disrespect to Whit but i would think that Rob Sendoff, Steve Hawkins or Keith Dambrot have better pedigrees for a move up.

I guess we have to wait for an official statement from either Whitford or BSU. It will really piss a few of you off if he stays!

So, if he indeed leaves...
1) I won't lose a lot of sleep about Whit leaving in and of itself. Though I like some aspects of his coaching, his recruiting (specifically big man recruiting) hasn't thrilled me. We can do better. 2) I will, however, lose sleep about the hiring. Who will be interviewing/selecting? How much $$ is in play? How serious is Sandy at returning this program to top-tier MAC form? 3) I will also lose sleep about our recruits, our attempts to find a big man, holding onto the sophomores and Moses, etc.
Not saying anything anyone else isn't saying. I do find it interesting that, if hired by an A-10 school, apparently Sherm's OOC SOS analysis isn't one that the Duquesne is noticing or putting much stock in. Interesting...

The Duquesne fan forum is talking about Zach Gunn going with him. Merry Christmas.
