Sadly it’s gonna be very ugly.
And on National tv.

And I don't think Kelly is one to have much pity, particularly early in the season.

And then bsu0 woke up and realized ND beat us 52-17. Only a 35 point margin of loss?
That'd be better than WMU (52), CMU (47), NIU (46), EMU (42), and Toledo (41) from last year.
Careful cardfan or you will lose your reputation as a pessimist.

I will take a much more optimistic view going into the game.
BSU is capable of being very competitive when at full strength which we should be.
Mental approach is a key component and that advantage belongs to BSU.
I felt the same way going into the game at Nebraska back in 2007 which I attended.
We lead virtually the entire game only to falter at the very end 41-40.
Bye the way the next season was our historic regular season undefeated team and Brady Hoke’s last at the helm.
A few breaks created our way and momentum of realizing ND is far from the prestigious program it once was and who knows what the outcome might be.

No.
Nate Davis and a defense ain’t waking through that door.

No. Nate Davis and a defense ain’t waking through that door. I get that but the real strength of that team was the offensive line first and the versatility of the run/pass game. The 2007 team was then and this is now but I feel we do have considerable talent offensively and I put little stock in the results of last season - totally anomaly IMO. Worse rash of injuries for sure aCardinal team has ever experienced far and away over the 50+ years I have followed them. My big question is our D? The other factor is giving ND more credit than they deserve IMO.

If ND is not quite what it was, it is still a VERY strong program. Whether top 10 or top 20 that kind of program is way ahead in talent, depth. The crowd is huge. This is not Illinois we are playing...
You are right if the other team just plays to hold on expecting us to fold, we can surprise them. I think that was the Nebraska story. Except with out team at this point in their development, folding is a distinct possibility. And worse, we may not come out of the gate all that well on this stage.
Barring a really dull ND performance, if we come out and play well and hold our own for a half, we can count it as a good showing. I do not expect that dull performance from ND this year.

Nd is light years better than that Nebraska team and we are light years not as good as that BSU team. Yes, they lost some key players and we return a bunch of key players but let’s keep it real here. It’s ND, in South Bend, with a team full of 4/5 star recruits. We are still exceedingly young and small on defense. Like Hmh said, it’s not Illinois. The ND Oline will push us around pretty good. Over 4 quarters there’s just no way we can hang with them.
It’s very cool we’re playing them and our players will love the experience of playing in that historic stadium, but we got to be realistic about what we can accomplish up there.

Im all for believing and I hope there is a reverse Rudy story but I am expecting a beat down. I hope not but I can not see us improving enough to hang. Its going to take the perfect storm of miracles for us to keep it close... Now I was up there for a week a couple weeks ago. I did my best to plant some cardinal seeds and curse their field.. I hope my powers are strong
