Play calling in the 1st half was bad. That Dylan Curry penalty was a killer. Riley Neal is the real deal. Wind was killer. Assuming Toledo will be ranked after today. All 3 loses are to Top 25 teams.

We were bad most of the day...fumble, missed field goals, big penalties, giving up big plays, etc.
Very disappointed how we played particularly the first half!!

Yeah. I'm going to go back and watch and count how many plays up the middle we ran in the first half because it never worked.
The second half was so much better. Should have been a 1 score game with 5 and a half to play.

One of our main problems is that we tend to stick with things way to long when they are not working.. QB's, play calling, secondary coaches etc

Still think we can beat anybody and lose to anybody.

Why we insist on the running when it clearly doesn't work, why we stick with Morrison as db coach, why we refuse to attack after getting TWO ints in the first qtr, etc etc etc. and quite honestly, Pete hadn't been nearly as successful with his own recruits. This is year 5 of his program. Proof is in the pudding. Especially on the defensive side.

And sadly, IUs program has surpassed ours now.

And sadly, IUs program has surpassed ours now. Youre one of those glass half empty guys aren't you?? You realize the combined records of the teams we have lost to??? 14-0 (im including Toledo's no decision against Stony Brook) All three are and will be nationally ranked next week. Northwestern just shut out a damn good Minnesota team. To say that the proof is in the pudding with Pete is ridiculous. I will give you that his recruits on D haven't quite panned out but I see improvement. But his offensive recruits have been nice. Neal, Green, Gilbert, Mabon, Williams, Lacanaria...and more. Success might now be in the win columns last year and to this point this year but I see it coming. As for IU passing us the played a cupcake schedule and squeeked by to 4-0 record. Hung with and Ohio State team that NIU did as well. OSU struggled with Western as well.
See where you are coming from but still have seven games left. Just need to win 4 of them. I think we will.

I know its against all of Pete's "philosophy" but I would love to see us just come out throw caution to the wind and just sling it around next week. We are likely looking at 5 wins at best now might as well see what we have and have some fun.

Just let the kid do his thing. I think we can win 3 of the next 7. Just need to find a way to win one of the other 4. Still like the future for the cards.

I've been down on the sideline. I was today. Toledo was bigger stronger and faster than us and more physical. They had better schemes. Better athletes. More pop. More enthusiasm. Our skill position players are good but aren't being used to their best potential. (4 yard sideline outs to Jordan Williams over and over for example). The secondary is brutal. The tackling was horrible today. The offense is uninspired most of the time. Toledo is very good. More athletes than NW. My question to you is, why are programs like UT this far ahead of us to make us look like puke much of the game? Like I said, this is year 5 of Petes program. This is when his plan should really be kicking in. Right? It's not about being half full, it's about expecting us to be better than we are.

Take the training wheels off Riley, Pete! Conservative doesn't win in the Mac.
