Now Neus fate really hinges on Padock. PLitt is great hold my beer and watch this guy but for us to succeed in the long term Paddock has to be the man

I think for anyone who didn’t see any major issues, that oughta cinch it.
But I really think it’s best for both parties. Fresh start for Riley and Neu can more gracefully transition away from him. Riley had his great moments and his blown chances. I hope he shines wherever he goes and gets a sniff at the NFL.
And now we watch for Gilbert’s move.

Some have speculated that Neal just could not execute as this offense required him to do, or at the least was not patient enough and took off on the run too often. i was happy to see QB competition, and this probably results from Neu refusing to guarantee or encourage Neal about his status as starter. Good for Mike.
If Gilbert and Neal somehow thought they were the answer and the coach shouldn't be looking at possible changes, I don't know what they are thinking. If Gilbert makes a similar move, I'll say the same thing, we need to make changes, and nobody's job should be guaranteed.
The point above about what changes on Defense seems now a good one. If we want to be competitive in the tough games that is the place for most improvement. And without a lot of work in off season, and a great Spring, it is harder to imagine than a reset on offense.

I guess we don't have to debate about Neal anymore. I wish him the best.

Maybe mike decided to coach for his job the last few games of the season and put some players jobs in question. As A coach should if guys are getting by without their best efforts.
I don’t see the defense getting much better unless several changes are made to the staff on that side of the ball.

Regarding Plitt I like what I saw for the most part from a guy with not alot of game experience.
I think he is a better passer and can run as a last resort.

If we can bring in some big uglies, I’m hoping from the JUCO ranks, we could see an elevation in QB play (accuracy, completion %, just generally smart play). I don’t think it will matter to a degree who’s at qb, depends on how the recruiting / lineman develops.

If he finds the right system he can do well. If Vandy’s back up qb comes back Riley might not get to play there.
If Riley goes and excels somewhere else it’ll be a real indictment of mike and Joey.
