Fans attitudes affect championships? On the field? For players? Come on. I hope that’s not what you meant.
I’m all for the indoor facility even though I think the long term view of MAC football in its current spending model isn’t sustainable. The building is coming from private money. Fine with me and if the program needs it to have a level playing field with the rest of the MAC then let’s do it. Multiple programs will benefit. But to have a hissy about wanting to donate or not because of some opinions on a freaking fan board is silly. It’s soft. Why would that ever factor into a gift decision? That’s YOUR money and your call. Who gives a crap what a dang internet fan board thinks? I mean, you intend to donate for the benefit of the players/program/university, right? Or are you donating to get approval from anonymous people you don’t know on the internet?
Make a difference or don’t, your choice, but don’t blame or involve this board regarding your decision. People are always going to be for or against something like this. It’s just the way it is. You see it every where. So if you want the facility to happen then do what you planned to do and ignore us on here. We do NOT affect what happens and we shouldn’t. Coaches don’t follow fan board guidance and shouldn’t care what’s said here and you shouldn’t either.

I think Boise State in 2009 could have been given the four seed. But things have changed a lot since then. Plain and simple, they were not given the four seed.

Bigfoot: I hope you reconsider and donate to ole Ball U. It’s a great school and my butt will be in my stadium seat until I can no longer walk to my seat (maybe even then). I don’t care what level we compete at, only that we compete. The indoor facility would help the University regardless of level of competition. Please reconsider and support the Cardinal and White. Your support is appreciated.

Well, depends how it is funded. Those throwing big bucks toward it have a right to do so, it will be a major plus for the university in my opinion. Multi use is the key. No university builds an indoor practice facility for just one sports program (except ND, a private school). I am not sure how the concept that this would be for the football program exclusively, ever came about.

If this facility was exclusively for football I would be against it. It only makes sense to built it to enhance multiple programs.

Certainly those extra 3 or 4 practices that the band will be able to get in are absolutely vital to the mission of the university. That's worth a million right there. I can't even imagine how a million dollars could possibly be better used by Ball State.

Sorry Sherman, I couldn't resist pointing out tax payer money wasted by the university on non-athletic stuff.

Bigfoot - As a former BSU athlete, and someone who literally bled on beat-up dirt/grass fields for five long years many decades ago, . Do you often wake up screaming and in a cold sweat from your nightmares of these traumatic experiences? I really respect you for being able to reach into that dark place and share this soul-searing pain with us. I can't even imagine the horror you endured during those "five long years". I hope you've sought out PTSD therapy. My prayers are with you
