If I had a magic checkbook I'd buy Whitford out and hire Tim Miles without hesitation. He could spend 3 years here as the launching pad to his next stop, but man could that dude bring some actual ENTHUSIASM to campus...

I agree with you about Nebraska having a good coach in Miles he will be hired by someone soon we both know it won't be us nor anyone else in the MAC.

Hopefully ALL on a “fans” page contribute something back to their school.

Hopefully ALL on a “fans” page contribute something back to their school. Why, so Ball State can mock my donation with a complete disregard for how it's spent.

Yeah, that's how I want to spend my earnings....put it in the hands of the same people who squander $5-$10 million a year student/taxpayer subsidy on a money pit football program, and the same people who can't manage the basketball head coaching position any better than a kindergarten class could. Or maybe my money will go to lavish travel and equipment expenditures for a woman's sport that draws double figure attendance (on a good day) to their events. Yeah, I'll be writing that check today!

These are the same folks you think will solve the coaching problems by using their superior judgment to pick out hidden gems with innovative methods which the other programs have missed and everybody else refuses to pay what they are worth.

Round 669 of the same argument begins in 3 2 1....

Wrong. Those are the same people you want to give more money to throw into their same current failing process. I outlined an entirely different method of choosing a coach that was explicitly intended to take the process out of the hands of the usual suspects. You should re-read the Sherman Plan again as you seem to have failed to comprehend the most basic part of it.
Not surprising since you wanted to extend Whitford, and that sort of showed the rest of us what the level of your thinking is.

Oh....I notice now that I failed to mention an important point: if you donate money to the BSU athletic department, you are a complete idiot. It would be really difficult to imagine a more wasteful and socially useless donation. Does everyone in your family have all the money they need? Are you not able to think of any person, or group, who may have have done the right things but through genuine misfortune is in desperate need of some money? If so, you fail as a person. This goes for any college athletic department really, but more so to BSU's, which is so obviously mismanaged.

Doesn’t the Sherman Plan include lots of fire?

Contributions can be in more than just earnings. I contribute to Ball State every day by being a courteous driver. When people see my BSU license plate holder and how I let them merge with a polite waive I consider that a contribution to BSU.
