I guess the main thing I take from it is the multiple mentions of Neus job hanging in the balance. Its good to hear that players are wanting to play for him. I really hope they can at least get the ship heading in the right direction

The question will be how much needed to count as turn around.
Obvious to me 6 games won does it. Anything short, I think is tough but they'll look at how the team plays not just count wins.

Thats the million dollar question should the improvement be very minimal like 4 or maybe 5 games will the lack of finances

I think everyone agrees 6 wins would be enough and even a warrant a 1 year do it again extension.. The grey area is five wins or 4 but in most every game.. What really scares me though this is the 2nd mentioning of the coaches not having much faith in the secondary. Our secondary has doomes us going back to Lembo. If they suck again we will be in for a long season

Five wins even four if we are competitive in most games in my view gets a fifth year.

Five wins even four if we are competitive in most games in my view gets a fifth year. Thats where it really gets weird.. 6 wins you can sell the 5th year plus 1 extension 4 or 5 wins if you bring him back for 5 you have to extend him an additional year. No one wants a coach in the final year of contract with no extension.. That shows no backing from your AD and you will not get any recruit worth a hoot. If he stays he has to be extended 1 year

Yeah you can’t do a 5th year. You either remove him after this season or you extend him. There is no in between.

It is interesting that a common theme is that the guys around him on the team have confidence in him, and I think we saw some of that reflected in their play late last year. Just cut out some of those turnovers and who knows, maybe we’ll have a good QB. I’m more concerned about our DL than secondary - neither group was really mentioned. Also, I’m always interested to see which freshmen will get playing time. I think of the freshmen listed as potential impact this year, Coll was the most surprising name. We are pretty strong at LB, so if he’s considered for playing time as a true freshman he must be impressing the coaches.

6 wins and real signs of life might be more than 1 year extension.
Play well, relative to opponent, show something in most games might warrant 1 year extension with less than 6 wins.

The article today sure seemed optimistic about his recruiting having built talent that is representative for the MAC. Also seems everyone has confidence in the QB, always a good thing.
Without regard to all that confidence in the talent level and player development which has to be proved, it is good to see the team enthusiastic.
After last year there had to be some concern he had somehow lost the team.

Agreed A lot of the reason for that is just that he will be bargain price, and the financial issues make buyout so hard to see happening. Also makes going into the market for a replacement not even as likely as usual to bring in a clear step up. Signs of turnaround should go further than normal. Also, can't ignore he really is a BSU guy which probably means he gets slack from fans who are pulling for him a bit more than the usual case.

After last year there had to be some concern he had somehow lost the team. Well preseason articles and interviews are always going to lean toward a positive spin. I think we could be fine on the offensive side.. Need good o line play and another receiver to step. Plitt cant throw multiple interceptions on the D side.. Need good run d from line while getting more pressure.. Lb's will be good.. CB's might be ok but damn I feel like the back end is still a trainwreck

For sure lets be really honest if finances were not an issue we would probably be talking about a new coach this year
