Watching VU practice. Still hard to tell, as Riley is splitting snaps. Will be interesting to see if he gets the start. His passes are sharp and on target. Looks pretty good...

Wish him the best of luck.
It would be great to see him and Gilbert both start for Power 5 programs.
Would speak volumes about the talent coming out of the MAC and BSU recruiting/development of players!

If we have these two kids start at Power5 schools and we couldn’t win with them, and Gilbert wasn’t featured last year, then it doesn’t speak to our talent level or player development, it speaks to issues with the coaching staff. Throw losing Hazleton in there as well.

Yes, there were apparent issues with Gilbert and some of the staff. Too, Huntley, who might be even the better of the two had some impact in who played and who didn't. Neal, I disagree as I think the off filed issues were a much bigger part of his success, particularly last year. Getting away from things is probably huge to him. So, yes, I agree with bigfoot in that it does speak well for some MAC talent and our recruiting.

Neal definitely needed to leave because of off the field stuff out of his control.

Im sorry but if Riley becomes a stud at Vanderbilt.. There are going to be some serious questions they need to by asked. The first one is.. "Why could Riley not be a stud in the MAC" Would the answer be Health, supporting pieces, coaching etc

Something happened with Gilbert maybe it was just the Injury maybe not I dont know. I think the answer is while everyone publicly said they were cool with rotating three backs really that was not the case.. We were going to lose Gilbert or Huntley, we lost Gilbert. I guess the plus to that is we lost Gilbert for one and Kept Huntley for two

If Riley leads Vandy to wins over Purdue & NIU both Neu & Lynch will look bad. However, I feel Riley leaving Muncie was in his & his family's best interest at this time.

Our #2 problem won’t address his #1 problem

Yes he had to get out of Muncie... Im not sure wins over Purdue or NIU would really mean all that much.. Neither one of those schools are power houses if he starts knocking off SEC teams then I hear ya

These guys both graduated and had grad school/FB opportunities. Many other schools including Power 5 universities have similar experiences so I don’t see it as we can’t keep players.
