It can be good to be so underrated. Maybe everyone will look past us and give us some surprising wins. Honestly, I think we will be better than anticipated.

Well we’ll need 12 (maybe 11, we can still beat Fordham, right?) teams to look past overall, and probably at least 7 MAC teams to look past us to challenge for the MACC.
No problem.

This is my first post, and probably my last. I have read the comments on this site for the past couple of years and never felt a need to reply/post until now. I firmly believe:
-we are going to be above the 4 wins posted on the over/under conversation -we are going to a bowl game -We are going to have a repeat of last year with multiple players on the MAC post season conference team -the defense is going to be significantly better than it has been in the past few years - the overall play of this team will show significant growth in all facets
Some of you can continue to be non-believers and I get it. For fans who want to see this team give you something to cheer for, your faith and positivity will be rewarded this season. See y’all at the end of the season.

I’m begging for success. Hungry for it. I love college football and I love watching our Cards play. Just want something good to happen despite several years of the opposite.

Let’s not make this your first and last post. Like you, I think we will be better than expected. I feel we will win at least six and go bowling. Others have noted Hokes record. I feel we have dept than in recent years. Riley was good, but the team need seem to see him as their leader, they played better for others. I’m feeling good about this year.

The issue is even if we do all that, we still won't be a relevant college football program, and a majority of Alumni won't follow the team or watch a single game.

No MAC team or non-Power5 team will ever be relevant in D1 college football. We are playing for a conference championship and/or a lower level bowl game. If you wanted to be relevant you should have went to a Power 5 school. As a Group of Five, all you will ever get is to see a good football game, have fun with friends on a nice Saturday afternoon. That’s O.K. With me. Love Ball State, love football, love to be at the game. In fact, wouldn’t mind being in the Valley with Indiana State and maybe have a real chance to win or compete for a national championship.

History and statistics say that most of this won’t happen. Its not that a lot of people don’t WISH it to be, but WISHING has proven to NOT be a good game plan in either football or basketball for Ball State.

Was able to visit fan day yesterday. Enjoyed getting the chance to talk with several players & coaches. There seems to be an inner confidence building I don’t remember from last years fan day. I think this team will really surprise some people. The schedule is such the byes are right before key MAC games. Looking at NIU’s schedule they’ll be coming off tough non conference and will have Ohio right after Ball State. Could easily overlook the Cards and be beat up. WMU might be little more difficult, but maybe they’ll be looking ahead too. I believe the season will shake out like this: Wins: Fordham, FAU, NIU, (believe we can pick up one of the middle three of EMU/Toledo/Ohio), CMU, Kent, Miami Wildcard: WMU (they’ll be ready enough to make it a slug fest) The key is if these guys can keep they’re heads up, not let a wheels off moment dictate the rest of the season. NIU lost 5 regular season games and came out on top last year, so anything is possible. Go Cards!!!!

We all really want the same thing and even though we argue and fight like brothers and sisters you will not find more passionate Ball State Fans anywhere..
