I'm surprised Kent st is 50/1. I would of guessed 85/1. 66/1 around what I'd expect for BSU based on the general consensus. I imagine CMU is above us due to unknown Mcelwain factor in year 1.

This is my first post, and probably my last. I have read the comments on this site for the past couple of years and never felt a need to reply/post until now. I firmly believe: -we are going to be above the 4 wins posted on the over/under conversation -we are going to a bowl game -We are going to have a repeat of last year with multiple players on the MAC post season conference team -the defense is going to be significantly better than it has been in the past few years - the overall play of this team will show significant growth in all facets Some of you can continue to be non-believers and I get it. For fans who want to see this team give you something to cheer for, your faith and positivity will be rewarded this season. See y’all at the end of the season. If we had built momentum off that competitive loss to ND, I'd probably be less of a Debbie downer. I hope BSU beats my prediction by 2+ games. I'd be happy to see program return to where it was majority of the yrs between 2006-2013 but I didn't see it consistently last season minus a few spurts.

I also talked with some coaches yesterday and felt like they were honest and transparent. All seemed fine with the offense my question to them all was what about the secondary and would we be better. They all thought we would due to moving wilborn it adds a stud and gives us more depth. We are good at LB with good depth so we could afford to make the change

Well we’ll need 12 (maybe 11, we can still beat Fordham, right?) teams to look past overall, and probably at least 7 MAC teams to look past us to challenge for the MACC. No problem. This is too pessimistic. I’m reading up on teams on our schedule, and we are not far behind most of at all. For example, FAU I saw on schedule and in my mind wrote down an L. Then I read about all the players they lost and honestly it kinda sounds like a mess. Granted they have recruited some good players, but I now think we will win that one. It is hard for me to project us beating NIU, but on paper they shouldn’t be much if any better than us. I predict 4 or 5 wins with 6 possible.

Was able to visit fan day yesterday. Enjoyed getting the chance to talk with several players & coaches. There seems to be an inner confidence building I don’t remember from last years fan day. I have much more confidence in our players than I do in our coaching staff. I believe the players we have are capable of being significantly more competitive. The question is whether the coaching staff will be able to maximize their abilities. I think some of the things I've read are promising but there's a lot to play out. I really want Neu and staff to succeed, but boy do they have a lot to prove.

I’m hoping when the pressures on the attitude is “attack! attack! attack!”, really don’t want to see anyone clam up & second guess. I think the team would respond to that better & be able to push through.

Cardrock, You think we’ll beat NIU??? I think this years match up with NIU is the best shot we’ll have, it sets up nicely. They have three straight road games; Utah, Nebraska, Vanderbilt, hard road games. They can be beat up, tired and taking us lightly thinking about the road game the following week to Ohio. I believe

I just could not believe they have us at 66/1.. I do not think we will win the MAC but 66/1 is a giant number And yet BG and Akron are 100:1. In some ways I think 66:1 is a little generous.

If we get all those things my mistrust and negativity will be rewarded too. I want those things, I just don't believe those things will happen.
It's like saying you believe everyone on this board is going to receive a windfall of $1,000,000. Just because I don't believe that will happen doesn't mean I wouldn't benefit from the cash.

Thats just it most of us have been wanting these things for years and yet just like in Basketball throw out a couple good years here or there and it has been a dismal quarter century BSU sports.. Lets hope we right the ship this year and have a fun enjoyable season with a few wins

I’m interested to see if the true freshman wide receivers get reps. I just saw a short clip on Twitter from ball state sports about Hart and McGaughy. They reminded the coaches of Williams and Mabon because of their size. Hopefully they live up to the hype!
I think the wr position could be a strength. Tyler, Hart, and McGaughy are all big targets. Then you have reliable Miller. Add the short quick guys in Hall, Littles and Dunner and you have an impressive group.

If he makes even modest improvements over last year, the offense will put up big numbers. On defense, I feel really good about the LB’s. Secondary has potential to be solid, but DL needs to hold up. Defense doesn’t have to be great, just be better than terrible.

I feel one of the keys this year is that we have Depth, size, and even speed we have not had in recent years. If these players improve as the year progresses, this could be a good MAC team and go bowling!

This team must believe in the Neu system, whatever that is this year. If the first part of the season does not go their way look to game #5. If they give up at the beginning of the MAC schedule ya might as well fire Neu and start lookin for another head coach.
