Not surprising following his OWI arrest Monday morning: "Following his arrest yesterday for OWI, IUPUI head coach Jason Gardner has resigned. According to the Indianapolis Star, Gardner resigned from his post at IUPUI Tuesday, Assistant Athletic Director Ed Holdaway confirmed. Holdaway said it was a mutual decision between Gardner and the university, adding “we certainly wish him the best.” hoopdirt.com/breaking-gardner-resigns-as-head-basketball-coach-at-iupui/

Why screw your self like that? And wonder if there’s more.

He only had one season left on his contract, and my guess is they were planning on going a different direction. This just made it easier and cheaper.

Driving vs Operating- driving you are actually driving, operating you could be performing any type of operation even if not driving at the time like just sitting behind the wheel.

Last year after Whitford hired Matt Crenshaw from IUPUI as an assistant coach I wondered why; Crenshaw was an Associate Coach at IUPUI and basically took a lateral position or less at Ball State. He (Crenshaw) from his bio appears to be a high character individual, which makes me wonder if he wasn't leery of behavior patterns of Gardner. That's probably a leap I shouldn't make; be that as it may it's late in the year to be searching for a Div I HC so I wonder if IUPUI might consider Crenshaw as a replacement.

And yet those kinds of leaps are what make message boards great...
