Amazing how quickly mcelwain got Cmu on top. How long does he stay there? But, but, but,....it takes years to dig yourself out of the hole left by your predecessors.

Is it possible for us to sweep the west, get swept by the east, and not win the division? If so I think that’s the most “Ball State” way to lose the division.

Clearly to win West they'll have to sweep Western and Central to control the head to head tiebreakers. Odds of that happening are probably about 15%.
To have by baseline standards a "successful" season, I think they need to go .500 in November and I believe that's highly achievable even after Saturday. Losing 4 of 5 or 5 of 5 to close would be a poor look optically.

Losing 4 of 5 or 5 of 5 to close would be a poor look optically. They could still win the west after a loss to WMU or CMU. Losing both would probably end their hopes though. Those teams could easily lose another game to a different team. WMU has a couple of tough road games left and CMU is either good or bad week to week.
