Also, the league is gravitating more and more to the 6'2" and taller receiver. Snead at 5'11" isn't going to get a lot of looks.

The league has been moving that way for a long time, yet the Edelmans, Amendolas, Beasleys, Hiltons, Browns, Beckhams, Hills, Locketts, Johnsons, Samuels and Landrys all still find work. A reliable set of hands in traffic is not always easy to find. Go with reliability, not height.

And I think he lost PT this year with some questions about his reliability. If his coaches give him a high grade from practice, maybe he'll find what he wants, but whether he stayed or goes on and gets picked up he has an uphill road to staying in the league in the future. He has to get PT and perform and he'll compete with guys out of college in a training camp.

The point was that you do not have to be 6'-2" in the NFL to be a solid All-Pro wide receiver.

Everyone knows 00 has never responded to anyone’s actual point.

That's true, but it means you have to be extraordinary in some other way. And prove it.
Snead is good in other areas but he's now a practice squad player. Needs to play, time is not on his side.

How relevant is it to compare Snead to All-pro receivers? Or even league starters, now? He's hanging on, wants to play and prove he's still a starter, but it's uphill. Odds or against him.

JacksonStreet has you pegged dead to right.

I think lurkin was exactly right. As much as I like to argue with him about some things.

Snead back on practice squad after catching a pass last week. It's going to be tough for him to get on the field.

So how long does Snead stay on the Panthers practice squad? I fear it's not long he might have a month but in my eyes 2 wks tops from today.

I had the pleasure to play with Willie for a few years. He came in a year or two after me and I couldn't say enough positive things about him as a person. His play on the field speaks for itself.
Never once caused an issue at BSU - he was always a stand up guy who did the right thing when he could. Never alienated people or had an ego - just came to work every day and got better.
He deserves every red cent he is getting with that contract. Couldn't think of a more deserving guy.
