Coleman played 19 minutes - 3 boards, 2 points, 3 assists, and his D was just ok. Not exactly a stat line to get too excited about. Is it me, or is college basketball just really sloppy nowdays? I find myself unimpressed with most of our wins, but maybe I need to change my expectations of what good/ successful basketball looks like. That's because, outside of a very select few coaches, nobody in college basketball actually "coaches" anymore. 90-95% of D1 head coaches are glorified ass wipers who don't want to say or do anything that might displease the kids. 18-21 year olds don't want to learn anymore, because they've heard from their high school coaches, their AAU coaches, their friends and family (see post about Teague's entourage) how good they are and how smart they are and how they belong in the top tier, to the point that to try and coach them is only going to upset their fragile little egos. Hard-ass coaches like Bob Knight (despite his flaws, he coached kids up, graduated kids at a high rate, and developed them for the future) would get absolutely eaten alive in today's entitlement era. We've seen it here at home, Whit doesn't want to coach, he wants to do everything he can to be seen as these kids friends instead of their leader. It's fucking nonsense. very aggressive but I like it

I agree with chirp and have written several times similar comments. There are way too many coaches that are afraid that they will lose their players if they disipline them. They turn into cheerleaders. In the past, if you happen to know the history, MANY great coaches had problems with players but dealt with the players in a fair but stern way. That does not seem to be the case any longer. I love the comment made by John Wooden at his namesake tournament featuring high school players when one player threw down a tomahawk dunk on a fast break. The play by play announcer asked the coach what he thought and he said,'He would have been out of the game before his feet hit the ground.''

Which is really unfortunate given how highly regarded he was and that he’s had a redshirt year of practice. I was surprised how frail he looked in the Defiance game. I thought he would be a little stouter. I agree, in that game he looked lost. The first time I saw him up close he was a physical specimen. I too noticed he looked small in the huddle against ISU. Odd that he looks so small now. What happened?

Acree was there.. We were directly behind the bench sitting with the parents so you hear some things. I think part of Teagues problem is that his people are screaming at him to do one thing and his coaches are telling him the opposite. People are screaming at him shoot the three.. During time outs they are screaming at him his current starliner and what ever else they think he needs to hear.. The last three minutes of the game someone was screaming you got 22 and 9 1 rebound for a double double over and over again This has been the ongoing problem with Teague. His people need to just let him play.

I agree with BS...let him play...he seems self motivated more so to me this year but in fairness he recognizes he's a Senior!

I can’t dispute the observation but I sat next to the family at the last game last year and none of them made a peep the entire game.
