Our D is damn good and with KJ even better. This may be true, but I’ll take the defense as is is for now. Acree is looking pretty good on defense and on the boards, just needs to improve his offense. If Thomas can continue to improve, we would have some nice depth and could be ready for the Tournment.

Maybe we should just forget about Walton? He’s not part of this and who knows if he will be again.

I hear you Cardfan, but I am not giving up on not having KJ; I just believe he would really help our depth and frankly even our performance but we'll see.

Bottom line is why is there no reason given? Will anyone ask about in a press conference? I guess not. Just plain weird.

I am not nearly as optimistic as the rest of you especially Kid. Teague has been a beast and is Whitfords one and only 1st team All Conference player. Only took 7 years to find one. My doubts lie in our horribly inconsistent shooting, our youth in so many key roles and the lack of a reliable third scorer. Mallers is an enigma and you just don’t know when he’s gonna show up or not. Bumb has hit the wall and Coleman is just way too loose with the ball for me. Our defense is the constant that has kept us in games when all of these other weaknesses have reared up. That and Teague has found that senior gear we all hoped he would. Kid, I don’t think anyone will argue that KJ would make us better and we could really use his penetration, rebounding and just plain minutes. I disagree on his defensive prowess personally but regardless we could sure use him but as far as I’m concerned he might as well be in a cast. He is unavailable and I’m assuming he is done until I see him walk to the scorers table. I still think we may lose one at home and I will stick with 5-4 down the stretch, mainly because I’ve seen our February swoons under this coach too many times and until he proves otherwise I will go with historical performance as a predictor of future. Hope I am wrong on all counts.

Bottom line is why is there no reason given? Will anyone ask about in a press conference? I guess not. Just plain weird. Even a freshman journalism student would ask what “complicated” meant when told the injury is “complicated” in a press conference. For crying out loud, are reporters afraid Whitford won’t talk to them again if they show any journalistic aggression? Crap, the man barely communicates to anyone the way it is. You wouldn’t know if he black listed you from further interviews for at least a couple of years.

If a coach can’t give details for privacy reasons, you could still ask follow up questions like do you anticipate he will play in the regular season or in the tournament. How close is he to coming back? Does he want to play or are the training staff holding him out? Has he been cleared medically? Is he currently practicing? What is he able or unable to do? Are you OK with him dunking in pregame warm ups? How is he handling the mental part of not playing?
It’s all just bullshit right now anyway. He is dunking, his ankle is not heavily taped, he’s not wearing a brace, he dresses, he smiles and jokes. If this were Persons he’d be like a rabid dog on a log chain trying to get in especially as a senior.

I'd have fucking answers or be blacklisted "ala tom davis"

Mallers grinds it out everynight..

Nonsense. Great journalists and alcohol have a long history. Hot dogs in the press box, pshaw, Rob can send the kids out for dogs. The writing? His output on this forum exceeds that of any SP reporter.
