Kroft's comments about a coach not changing him tell you all you need to know about him and his family. Having said that, I agree with the comments from him and all of you above that Whit's use of talent is grossly flawed. We all know that. Yep. Both stances can be true.

Toughest major to try it with, I’m guessing

Sorry, cant feel sorry for Kroft. That he didn’t play much is his problem and not the coaches. The players that had court time earned it - he didn’t! The team’s play by the end of the season was looking pretty good. Kroft couldn’t cut it, so stop complaining. He could have tried to play as the coach pushed, showed his talent, and still leave at the end of the season. Move on with your life and shut up. The real world has a lot of bigger ups and downs coming. Man up! As People and this board know, I’m not the biggest fan of Whit, but this player needs to learn that there is a time talk and a time not to talk.

He would have been better off to dodge those questions from the newspaper. They may hurt his recruitment. If I were a coach they would scare me off.

I don't see that there is really anything very noteworthy here.
Kroft acknowledged he wasn't playing up to his standards, but he soon discerned a difference in vision between head coach James Whitford and himself. Kroft said the contrast was less butting heads and more philosophical. "He's big on teaching that the game isn't really revolved around the mid-range anymore," Kroft said. "It's more of getting to the rack or shooting 3s, it's statistically proven. That's not really what I've been; I've always been a big mid-range guy. But it's something I have to work on."
Kroft isn't complaining or blaming Whitford for anything. That's just a level-headed and honest assessment of why he didn't fit. Well....there is also the fact that Kroft is just not all that good of a player, but you can't fairly expect him to talk in those terms. Not sure how this is going to scare away any other coaches or why Kroft needs to "stop complaining."
Nor do I see Kroft's words, or his leaving, as any sort of indictment of Whitford. If there is blame for Whitford in this whole situation it is that he even had a scholarship available for Kroft due to his lack of recruiting better, more needed, players. Like, say for example, a replacement in the post for Teague.

I guess I can accept your observation. I would say Whit is correct and as I watched the sweet sixteen team and Ray’s team with Bonzi, they played using Whit’s philosophy. We were good from the three point line as well as inside. There were very few jump shoots. The difference is we had outside shooters and inside players. Evan Parish at 6’5” was a strong inside player. So Kroft is going to have play strong inside or outside or his playing time will not be great anywhere.

Kroft is a marginal D1 player. If he thinks he can get a better opportunity than BSU, then I'm surprised he passed the admission standards.

I think he thinks he get can a better opportunity for him, not necessarily a better program. That may very well be a low D1 school or a school like U-Indy.
It’s not his fault whit maybe poorly evaluated him and gave him a scholarship. Our staff had to have known how over involved the parents are and Kroft played at 3 different high schools too, right? I mean, we lay people on here knew the kid was a transfer risk from jump.

Not sure if he will continue pursuing Architecture but if so, it will be tough to find a good fit. My son is also an Architecture major and there just aren't a whole lot of (licensed) schools out there for it - typically 1-2 colleges, per state. Most Arch schools are Power 5 for sports, and many who are lower-level D-1 are the HBCU's - neither of which seem a great fit for Kroft basketball-wise. I can only think of maybe 2 or 3 Arch schools that are D-II/III. There are more choices if he goes the route of Landscape Arch or Interior Arch, but it's not nearly the same curriculum. My son was kind of hoping to combine College Baseball with Arch and soon realized it's not a combo with many choices unless you're truly an elite athletic recruit or willing to go really far from home.
