Last week I watched the last four winning games for this season. Today I started watching the Sweet Sixteen run of 1990. Great win against Oregon State Beavers. Loved the look on Payton’s face when he fouled out. Than the excitement of the basket and foul as McCurdy hit the basket to tie the game as time ran out and made his free throw to win the game. That team was easily the best Ball State team in history - with three Muncie players in Thompson. Butts, and Miller. This team was awesome. Strong from top to bottom. Maybe best MAC team ever. Can’t wait to watch the Louisville game tomorrow!

Sorry, I could I forget the Beavers! Maybe it was because they were ducking ever time they confronted McCurdy and Kidd or maybe because I like beavers!

Watched Cards play ISU in 1996. Beat them easily that year. Again a strong Muncie presence with Bonzi, Clemens, Hoiser, and Zackary from Anderson. Some good front line help as well. Beat Butler that year and next. Also some Big Ten wins as well. 16-13 96/97 and 21-8 the following year. Muncie area not producing the same quality of great basketball players as in years past. That can make a difference for the Cards.
