Much as I don’t care for Tom Davis, he’s not wrong.

I have no problem with his opinion in fact I think he is right.. He could have posted only that and I would have not cared at all. As soon as he tagged Ballstatebasketball and Ish it became a jab/personal attack and made me say fuck him again

One thing I love about Ball State is how close everyone is

As soon as he tagged Ballstatebasketball and Ish it became a jab/personal attack and made me say fuck him again "This sport sucks." Yea, sometimes it does as do all sports and institutions, for that matter. Ironic that now he's got a case of the Bitter Sportswriter's Syndrome.

Combined with "Look at me" syndrome and "Please respond" syndrome.
Always wanting to generate traffic is the new sportswriters gig. His job will depend on having so many followers and so many comments.

If nothing else, we should have a ridiculous fast break. Unfortunately you have to rebound well to fast break well

If nothing else, we should have a ridiculous fast break. Unfortunately you have to rebound well to fast break well Or be able to create turnovers with pressure defense.
Rebounding with a smaller team is not impossible, but it tends to mean sending perimeter players to the boards instead of out on the break.
Teague was a good rebounder not just because of length. He wasn't that tall. Or very big and strong. He was quick and blocked out. It. remains to be seen whether we can replace that. With good depth and athletes on the perimeter, playing passing lanes, we may be able to create more turnovers.

Teague graduated as the 10th all time scorer, 11th in FG's made, 4th in rebounding, 3rd in blocked shots and 7th in steals. It doesn't remain to be seen whether we can replace that. We can't. Other guys will absorb some of those stats just by being on the floor but Taj was the ONLY 1st-team player we've had EVER under this coach. Teague was only 6-8 but had a much larger wing span and was way stronger as a senior last year than you give him credit for. If you combined Thomas, Hazen and Acree into a single player you might have 80% of Teague...maybe.

If you combined Thomas, Hazen and Acree into a single player you might have 80% of Teague...maybe. Yeah, I agree completely. When I referenced his length, was thinking of wingspan too. I give him full credit for being strong, but he was not the guy who could command position because he was big and bulky, he had to work hard on the block out. That is the kind of effort we have to have.
Just like you redistribute scoring you redistribute rebounding. We had Mallers and Teague mostly blocking out and rebounding, but sent others to the board as well.
Assuming Thomas and Hazen are starters we don't quite match those two seniors we lose. Especially in strength. Well unless the Tennessee farm boy can get in and play, he is pretty strong.
The SP article on Ish returning mentioned 6 potential players up front and included Acree in that number which was a bit surprising. I assume that would be Hazen, Thomas, Gunn, Hendricks and Huggy plus Acree, may as well include Jones and Coleman, everybody except except pure outside shooters will have to go get the ball.

I am viewing next season as Jones and Windham will have to sit. If Jones could get his degree over the summer and be a grad transfer that would be ideal but not sure why he has not graduated yet after 4 years in school as an athlete. That's a little puzzling.
