One of the more pathetic losses I've ever seen at Worthen. Waste of time. Losing to a really bad Miami team at home to take us to a 1-5 MAC record could prove be a defining moment in Lewis' tenure here.
I put that one squarely on Lewis. Why would you play Bailey late in the game when he couldn't have defended a middle schooler and couldn't throw it in the ocean? Meanwhile, Middleton was the one who helped us to the 10 point lead, but yet he was on the bench late.
What's up with repeatedly forcing it early in the shot clock with a lead late in the game? Pearson, Anderson, and Jihad just made really bad decisions with the ball when the game was on the line.
I've lost all hope in the program EVER being good again.

Basically what Lewis said in the post-game interview on radio. He couldn't understand why Pearson and Jihad kept hoisting shots with so much time left on the shot clock. Lewis also was livid on why someone (Bailey) didn't foul on the last possession of regulation instead of letting the Miami guy fire-off a 3-point shot. Lewis said: "he has always been a foul the opposing guy in the last few seconds of the game guy since his time as an assistant at Texas Tech, and was yelling from the bench for someone to commit at foul".

This team has an extremely low basketball IQ save Mason Jones

Had the players not head their collective heads in their ass with early shots and no foul with seconds to go, we should have won this one in regulation.

After watching the presser and listening closely, I'd sure like to know what kind of university BS the team had to deal with (roughly 8 minute mark) this week that was a huge distraction according to Lewis. I'm surprised Lewis said that publicly. It could be construed as an excuse. Makes me think if it were so bad Lewis felt the need to say something publicly it must be pretty egregious.

Lewis is finding out about obstacles the university tends to throw at people and make things difficult.

I'm rapidly losing faith in the coaching staff. This roster only has 6 or 7 players, then the talent falls off quickly. Those 6 or 7 need to learn to commit to 40 minutes. This team started slow, then ended regulation with 2 poor minutes of play. Frustrating to watch.

We were completely outcoached the last 8 minutes and overtime.

He should have used his last TO to set things up during our last possession of regulation. He left one unused. Hindsight is 20/20.

We were completely outcoached the last 8 minutes and overtime. And that’s really disappointing.

The whole staff was screaming to foul before that last second shot. Those shots were as stupid as they looked. Not much awareness IQ on our team.

We basically collapsed in final 3 minutes. Really poor shot selection, left shooters open for threes and then not fouling on the last possession was just inexcusable. That tells me they didn’t emphasize it in the final TO because when Lewis barks something like that they know they better do it. The three the Redhawk hit was a prayer but he hit it so it’s on us. I watched them and us before the OT tipoff and we were hanging our heads, no passion…Miami was fired up, all the momentum and mentally ready to take it. I looked over at my buddy and said look at us and them, we are toast and sure enough we played like 🐶💩 and curled up in the fetal position.
This was a coaching failure, IMO. You must emphasize the obvious including drain the clock and foul on the final possession when you have one to give. I don’t think we hammered that home and it was just assumed we knew what to do. I could be wrong but that’s the way it looked to me.
