Western's arena is bad, but I rate Miami's as worse. Western's at least has a bit of character through being old, while Miami's is just stupid. As I have said, BSU needs to sweep the two games with WMU to make the MAC tourney. BSU is currently 9th and thus on the outside looking in. WMU is the only team above in the standings that I see us having a chance to overtake. And WMU is two games ahead. But WMU is quite bad and has the tougher schedule. It's critical to close within a game here and establish the tiebreaker advantage. Otherwise BSU might as well go sit down on the MAC reject couch along with Mohammad, Jugdish, Sidney and Clayton. WMU's "barn" looks like a palace compared to Miami's Mullet Hall. Absolutely pathetic arena, especially for a school like Miami. That place sucks.

Oh yeah. I forgot that Ball State has to be the perpetual helpless victim of disadvantages that other mac programs somehow overcome Which MAC programs are overcoming the NIL deficit? Do we have similar resources?
No, obviously the contending MAC schools have vast advantages over us in every way, have practically unlimited resources, and we can never, ever match them. Ever. THEY can contend for MAC championships, WE have to be content to live in an eternal gray fog of failure, excuses and low-expectations. Silly people in this thread think they know some plausible way that Lewis can have a championship contending roster. Us smart people know this is simply not possible and never will be.

We'll never generate the interest in FB to stay with the top MAC schools.
BB, we have a fighting chance. Uphill because our alumni just don't have a good record of supporting athletics, and we lack corporate and local business support.
General can preach about how some coaches will do better, vaguely implying it's just our coaches aren't selected properly or not motivated by threat of firing, but mostly those successful in NIL will be at schools with those advantages.
His favorite solution of unknown HS coaches under the Sherman Plan, with no guarantees, are very unlikely to do well in this respect in their 3 year contracts...

Fortunately, cooler heads than mine prevail, and we have the stability that comes from having extremely low expectations, keeping failed but conventionally-hired coaches around for 6 or 8 years, and making excuses for them every year. Thus we have a very enviable 23-year record of consistency and adherence to standard practices and conventional wisdom. There is a great comfort level in that.
