UConn? They are an independent in football. Would be a great add, but must include all sports.

UConn? They are an independent in football. Would be a great add, but must include all sports. No way in hell UConn happens. Said all along, we should’ve jumped on JMU years ago. At this point, really need to revisit Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee, and save them from conference USA. Ideally wanted to add an FCS school out of Pennsylvania but none of their football programs really have the facilities for it. The only good thing about UMass is they’re at least established as an FBS program amongst ALL sports, and geographically, it finally helps out Buffalo. If you can somehow get Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee to come then you have to look at an FCS football school as your fourth edition, Indiana State, Southern Illinois and Tennessee Martin all make a lot of sense. You just have to find the one that wants to make the jump to FBS the most. Indiana State would be a great add for basketball and baseball and plus they at least have a decent football stadium. Tennessee Martin and Southern Illinois actually finished the year ranked in the FCS poll. North Dakota state was always a cool idea, but would rather stay in Midwest geographically

Indiana Stae, Illinois State, Western Kentucky with UMass would really enhance the MAC’s basketball strength and wouldn’t hurt football either.

The conference should go all out & expand to 16 schools. The 3 additions I would like to see are WKU, Middle Tenn St & Stony Brook, NY. Stony Brook is probably the one surprise. It along with Buffalo are the 2 largest SUNY schools. It has 25,000 students & both engineering & medical schools. It plays D1 baseball & basketball. The football team would need to move up from FCS & would need to expand it's FB stadium which currently seats 12,000. If it does not want to upgrade the football program I would go with 15 schools.
