New deal signed until 2031 so that should hold off D day for the forseeable future.. 12 teams until at least 26. Highest rated Conf champ from G5 guaranteed a spot. After 26 it will likely move up to 16 or more.. Revenue sharing added G5 schools will get 2 million each every year. Deal totals 7.8 Billion to be shared. Big 10 and sec split 50% ND gets 12 million and it goes down from there till G5 at 2 per school
The bonuses for schools are gone but profit sharing added this pays every school

So it seems the initial fear of getting swallowed up is out off for another at least 5-6 years. G5 gets a spot and a yearly paycheck they did not get before

That always was a little vague. Although I have seen 1.8 million per school given as a "collective" amount for G5, that total figure going to G5, I have not seen how that is split for each team.
Even split for all the schools in G5 always seemed unlikely to me. I expected the conference with the qualifier to get a bigger share and of course the team that qualified a bigger share than everybody else.
If it is an "average" of 1.8 or 2 mil, that could include a much smaller share to the bottom feeder G5 conferences?

The other issue that may impact D day is the new player compensation NIL model. Discussed here
G5 schools are going to be under pressure to do something about NIL at their level, surely will not be in the ball park we've seen in current proposals.
So as welcome as TV revenue may be, survival is not going to be put off long by the equivalent of one money game coming out of CFP.

if the article was wrong and its a 2 million dollar split then its meaningless but if it is per its kinda substantial at least for us

Like the river we're wading across is only on average 3 feet deep...
