Another decent pitching performance by Butler/Baker but our 7 hits were only by 4 players (Roman was 4/4). We really need to "hit" our stride soon. We're playing Northern teams now and the hope would be that we can outhit them.
Play 2 tomorrow against Northeastern and Chicago State.

Cards hang on to win first game 6-5 (Marquardt with the W) and are leading Chicago State 8-1 going to T8 (Brockhouse pitched 5 and will likely get the win).

Yikes, our closer isn't closing. Chicago State with three runs so far in 8th and Floyd being brought in to try and put out the fire with runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out.
oops, 2 more in. Now 8-6

Gee, hung on to win 8-6. Floyd did a great job to get us out of an 8th inning jam. 3 SO's in 1.2 innings.
Now 7-3 and we play Georgetown Sunday
