Hopefully, it was good to get 4 games against that caliber of competition. A lot af baseball (9games) in last 9 days. These guys are probably pretty tired right now. Will be good for them to get back home.
Team batting average has dipped to .229 and Stayton may not have made the trip to Oregon. Certainly did not play.

It's hard to win in Corvallis. Coleman Field is a beautiful stadium (over 100 years old). OSU has over a 70% win percentage there, and they are a blue chip program. Spending four or five days around that program is a plus for BSU. I'm sure Coach Maloney got some time with Coach Casey to see how they go about their business, and I'm sure our players picked up something from the experience.

Just an FYI....our 4 games against Oregon State were part of their 23 game win streak (broken last week) that propelled them to the consensus national #1 ranking the last few weeks, which continues this week.

As Oregon State enters tonight's game, they are an amazing 55-4. Their ERA is 1.86, the lowest since 1976 and ONE full run below the nation's second best ERA this year.

And is that without their ace, who just happens to be a registered sex offender? He was their premier pitcher this year and pitched against us in Game 2 (0 runs, 2 hits, 11 k's in 8 innings) Projected to be a first round draft pick this year, but went undrafted after the newspaper article. |
