Cards take care of business with a 4-1 win, pitchers combine for two-hitter. BJ used as a closer today.
now 8-4 on the season.
enroute to Oregon to take on the newly promoted #4 Oregon State Beavers in a 3 game series. We've got some games under our belts. This will be a good test.

Cards give up 2 in 2nd and lose 2-0 to #4 Beavers. Cards limited to 1 hit in 2nd inning. Korson/Floyd pitch 4 innings each.
mantra for season: pitching has improved, hitting is lacking.
Play DH today.
Unbelievably, Cards have 20th ranked ERA in country at <2.17. Beavers are #2

Cardinals fall 5-0 to Oregon State this afternoon. Manage only 2 hits. That's 3 total hits in two games.
pitching was strong again. Butler gave up 2 ER in 6.2 innings and we were only down 2-0 thru 7 innings.

Drop three straight to the beavers. OSU will go deep in the tournament with their pitching depth.

That's a level of team we just won't see in the mac. That pitching is far better than our normal schedule. Not gonna get concerned unless we can't hit mac pitching either.

The box scores I have checked look good in that we are not making errors & the pitchers are keeping the walks down. I always feel if we can play 500 the 1st month when playing teams from warm weather locales we will have a good MAC season. It appears we are doing that. The MAC season should be fun!
