Western Kentucky announced that DE's TyRon Horton 6'2" 285 RS Soph from Louisville Manual who was in 8 games last fall & Cecil Stallings 6'3" 260 RS Fr from Tucker, GA 3 star recruit are no longer on the team. Stallings was one of six players arrested in the April fight at a WKU fraternity ( not including O'Bryan). Previously leaving were LB T J McCallum who had started 26 games transferred as a grad student to Purdue & LB Drew O'Bryan a walkon who was arrested in the fraternity fight was noted as a transfer to be to EKU. Also unlikely to play do to the charges from the fraternity fight are RB Quinton Baker 5'9" 185 Ashland, Ky soph who rushed for 542 yds as a frosh, WR Xavier Lane 6'4" 200 RS Fr 3 star recruit from Montgomery, AL, LB Tyler Obec 5'11" RS Fr 3 star recruit from Flossmoor, IL, WR Jahcour Pearson 5'9" 180 RS Fr 3 star recruit from Pembroke Pines, FL, & last was DL Chris Johnson 6'1" 285 SR Gulfport, MS who started all 14 games & was HM All Conf. That brings them to 9 in players lost since Sanford took over the team. It appears new coach Mike Sanford, Jr. has his work cut out for him as the arrests & leaving of the team of the above mentioned players happened after spring practices. McCallum, Johnson & Baker would have been projected starters in March. While I still think they will be favored over us the losses will be significant.

If truly significant, then I don't see them favored over us.

They won 11 games including a bowl game last year. We won 4. They'll be favored.

I guess we will see. There will be games prior to determine the meaningless favored thing. I look for a different mentality on the field this year.

We both play Illinois in the first two games of the season so it should be pretty easy to pick the favorite when we meet. Biggest thing WKU has going for them is the QB Mike White who threw for 4300 yds last year with 37 tds & 7 interceptions. He led the nation in passing completions of over thirty yards(44) & 40 yards (24).
