That's a pretty good analysis other than calling Walton "Wilson". The program is at least a year away from doing anything. Too many holes and too much youth.

Newton will also not be returning kicks but who am I to nitpick. I would also say Lacanaria might start the season but he has been recruited over

I still think we'll go run heavy. At least we should.

I still think we'll go run heavy. At least we should. We might have too and probably should although it goes against everything NEU has ever said. It would really help Riley and honestly no one stopped us running the ball last year

I still think we'll go run heavy. At least we should. I don't necessarily like 3 yards and a cloud of dust but I heart being able to get 3.5 yds when we needed 3.0 like they did with Quake. It's wonderful to shove it down the opponents throat when they need a stop.

And Riley can run well too. Dunner and the incoming freshmen give us even more bullets.

Id prefer fast and throwing it all over the place but we have not been able to do that.. So I am down with whatever gives us the best chance to win

Face it, Neal needs to become closer to the QB he was projected to be. With that comes more designed runs (and risk of injury). His running in HS made him dangerous. That's who he is. That opens up the playbook and good things will happen. As a Jr., I expect a better more polished Neal. Look for the freshmen receivers to flourish and the running game to be damn good. That will produce good results and I think we get that bowl. If not, a frustrated Neu pacing the sidelines.

I hear what your saying and do not disagree but the staff really has to weigh the risk and reward of Riley running

Let him run, or do whatever gives the best chance to win.
If injury is the concern, well ... you go down doing your damnest to win.
Plus, Milas won't be a bad replacement.

You have to let him run to keep the defense honest. Plus it makes the read option pretty effective when the d has to freeze to respect the chance that Riley might take the ball out of Gilberts belly and keep it.
No, don't want to get him killed, but until he proves he can consistently complete passes over 10 yards we gotta have a strong running threat.

At least last year he was getting down quicker and taking lighter hits. He needs to continue to refine that technique to keep him healthy.

I agree he has to run some it does open up some other things.
