I was impressed by the play of the young CB's. Made a lot of plays on the ball when it was thrown and had much tighter coverage than I have seen in years..... So, they won't give the wr a 10 yard cushion and still find a way to get burnt? It is so frustrating to see the other team get a free 8 yards whenever they want it and still get beat deep. Hopefully these new dbs can improve on that. I never could understand why we played 10-15 yards off the receivers - we seemed to always give them enough space to insure a first down, it was so frustrating!

We gave them the room so we would not get beat deep. Our corners needed the extra yards because they were not fast enough to run with the opposition.

While we are on the topic of DB's I swear Im going to lose my shit the first time a safety running with hands up not knowing where the ball is. Find the ball,Play the ball. I saw it already on one of the practice vids and the nightmares came back
I mean how in the hell can our safeties be behind the play running full speed to catch up time and time again... Lordy

Inability to make reads, constantly biting on fakes, and taking bad angles.

I think we will see plenty of mistakes from our young secondary. Talent and athletic ability is there just not enough experience. Next year is the year where I believe we will start to contend again. This year will be about getting better not competing for a championship. 4-8 maybe 5-7. Patience is a virtue.

Speaking of getting beat deep, remember that game against Toledo (under Parrish) where the secondary allowed their WR to sprint down the sideline for a very, very late TD when all they had to do was play prevent? Good times.
It was like watching one of those movie car crashes where it happens in slow motion.
