I thought we should start a thread specifically dedicated to the wide receivers. Rob provided some good observations from the scrimmage, so I'm not sure there's much more to say. I think that if we are going to see improvement in the offense this year, the wide receivers will need to be much more consistent and explosive. Honestly, our receivers were not great last year. Too many dropped passes, and an inability to create separation. I know we have focused a lot on Neal taking that next step this year, but I think a lot of that depends on how our WR's step up. I am really excited about our young WR's and the depth, and I am hopeful that a couple of them will be big impact players this year. I think the offense has a lot of promise. If only our defense can be even average...

I'll say it again: 15 WR's on the roster this year. 15! One or two of them have to stand out just based on the odds.

Your both right we have a ton of options and have some really talented kids on campus. Several will need step up and one or two will likely need to blow up. Depth chart comes out next Monday or Tuesday. I suspect the ones will still be the seniors/upperclassmen but thats not saying they will play the majority of the snaps. I would bet the kids money we are going to throw a slew of receivers out there and let the cream rise to the top.
